"Wally is so great to work with.  He is very responsive....which is super important.  We discussed our wants, our must haves, budget, etc.  We had many meetings to work on the floor plan.  He would make the changes right in front of me, so I knew right away if I liked it or not.  He is very knowledgeable about the building process, so he was able to give me input about making changes or additions that would reflect the budget.  He also uses a 3d program that allows you to see the house (in and out), in real time view.  I highly recommend Wally."

"When I bought this house, it was was filthy, smelled horrible from outside even, was rodent and roach-infested. Counters, floors were wet and rotting. Everything had to be torn out and rebuilt. Now my home is beautiful. The bathrooms are lovely. There were no short-cuts or rush jobs, or anything left unfinished. I’ve had neighbors and friends who are in building and construction admire and compliment the high quality of the work done on my home. Most people who come in comment on the beautiful flooring, or the cleanliness of the walls and ceilings. Tree Work: His Arborist was very professional and removed all the trees necessary for construction. He also removed a bunch of trees that were not related but needed taken down. The chipped all of it and removed it all cleanly. Very professional.

Stump Removal: The Stump Guy was also very professional and quick, grinding down all the stumps of trees that the Arborist had cut, Professional Job.

Site Work. The Site work was performed buy the Concrete contractor. The primary issue I had with the drive and the site was drainage, The contractor made sure that there was no issue with this. I also got a gravel drive to the garage. Very knowledgeable in this regard.

Concrete: The concrete that was poured for the foundation of the garage is excellent. One of the reasons I waited over a year to write a review was that I wanted to see how everything held up. The concrete floor in the garage is smooth per my request with no stress grooves. Since it has been poured I have not found one crack. Built to my specifications. Excellent Job.

Framing: The carpenters knew what they were doing and built the garage without plans. Only thing I needed to insure that the Roof Joists were spaced properly, which they corrected after framing was complete. The garage matched the house. I had asked for Steel reinforced headers which were installed. Good Job.

Masonry: Brickwork is excellent quality, better than the house. Very Nice.

Finishing: The garage door, window and other door were installed correctly, I asked for "The largest attic door he could find" and the one installed is perfect. Paint is a dead match for the house. Brick is also a perfect match.

Price: The price was higher than I was planning to pay, but when you consider all the work that needed to be done, and the fact that I had only one person to deal with (Jess) It was worth it. Out of the three contractors I contacted, Jess was the only one that actually took his time, had his guys come out and take a look, and gave me a real price. The others were quick to pull a quote "out of their a__)

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"I have been trying to get repair and remodeling work done on my house and have been frustrated by calling contractors and having them either never show up or take weeks to show up, then more weeks to simply give me a quotation.  Ed Wise, the owner of E Tex Foundation, told me he was finishing a job but had to come to Nacogdoches the following week to respond to a call on a 15 year old job (he gives a 30-year warranty and evidently stands by his warranties).  The warranty is transferable to a subsequent owner without charge, while I was told by another contractor that to transfer the warranty I would have to pay $500.  Mr. Wise showed up exactly when he said he would and his crew got right to work on the day the job started.  They had to remove some bushes that were probably 40 years old, which they did with a chain, pulling them out using their truck.  They were concerned about driving on my lawn so would not do this operation until they had a chain long enough so that they did not have to.
E Tex Foundation is a 33-year-old company, and Mr. Wise has worked in the company since he was a very young man, now carrying on his father-in-law's foundation repair business.  My impression is that he is a man of integrity and is proud of the company's long tradition of doing superior work in an ethical manner.  I was touched by his admiration of his father-in-law, who is recently deceased, and his telling me how he learned everything he knew from him, including the spirit in which his work should be carried on.  He treats his crew with the greatest respect, and they work cheerfully doing some of the hardest manual labor (digging red clay and rock that would seem nearly impossible to do with a shovel).  The entire lot of them were friendly, polite, serious about their work, and just as pleased for me as I was when the house came back into level and the chimney straightened,  This company took something that had me extremely worried and turned it around to pure relief.  I am more than pleased with this company!
