"Right before my warranty expired the bathtub I had refinished started peeling on the area in front of the tub. When I called to get it fixed the office that did the original job was redistricted and would not service me so there was some back and forth with the new location in my service area taking responsibility for the repair. They finally agreed to do the repair but never completed it. The area they fixed was patched but never repainted to match the rest of the tub so it now looks white in some area's but a dingy gray on the patched area and now my warranty has expired."

Whether you should remove old insulation before blowing in new insulation depends on your particular situation. Fiberglass insulation attracts insects and mold over time, so if it has been decades since your last insulation upgrade, consider removing the old materials before placing the new ones. Bamboo tends to work better in climates that have more consistent temperatures, while laminate does a better job at insulating floors in homes that experience more extreme temperature changes, such as the deciduous climates of the northeastern U.S.

Insulating under a concrete slab foundation is a great way to improve the energy efficiency of your home, but it isn't necessary for outdoor projects like driveways, patios, sidewalks, and walkways. If you’re pouring in cold weather, insulating under the slab can help prevent heat loss from the concrete, aiding in proper curing. Along with accelerants, this can be a good way to ensure strong concrete despite pouring in the cold.

The easiest way to cover your HVAC ducts during construction is to use painter’s tape to affix plastic sheets over your vents and air returns in the area of your home where construction will take place. Keep in mind that closing off a portion of your system can put strain on your blower motor and air handler, so either shut the zone off or shut your system off while construction is underway. If you shut the zone, you can also hang plastic sheets over doorways to separate the construction area and keep dust contained.
