Rising S Bunkers offers the best underground steel shelters, bomb shelters, safe rooms & blast doors on the market. We lead the industry in quality and we have the highest standards for craftsmanship in underground bunkers and other emergency shelters. The Rising S standard of quality is unmatched by any other bunker company on the market today. Additionally, every project is completely customizable. Many customization's are available at no additional cost.

"Not even sure where to begin with this nightmare which I will now need to spend more money in legal just to get my money back if I'm lucky. It all started back in 2022 when a respectful salesperson Gary sold me on an underground bunker. Still to this day, he answers the phone for me, and he doesn't even work at Rising S company anymore. To keep a long story shorter, I paid over $100K for my unit after being pushed to make payments to 'keep it on the assembly line'. It has been paid in full since August of 2023 (just about 15 months for anyone counting). I received a response (finally) earlier this year in March that there is new ownership of the company, and the man in charge is Brad Dancer. After trying to contact for quite awhile, I did finally get him on the phone. He apologized and explained to me that he's in over his head. Even though I believe I have been more than patient, I agreed to give him some time to finish and deliver my unit. We agreed that August of this year (2024) I would have it. I checked in by email in June to ask if we were still on track. I received a response that we were indeed on track. Now fast forward to today (10/25/24), I have been completely ghosted by email, phone, and text. No responses at all by ANY form of communication. At this point, I realize I have been robbed of over $100K. And after reading many other consumers reviews on different platforms, it appears I'm not the only one. I will now begin my journey with the Attorney General and Legal process. I'll update my status here so anyone can see what happens. At least people can get answers some way. It is not a good feeling to not be able to get a company to call you, especially after they've taken over $100k. You can't even leave a message on the office line ( which no one has EVER answered by the way). I don't understand how a company like this could still be in business. My recommendation to anyone reading this.....I hope it's not too late for you."

"Please read my full experience before considering working with or purchasing a home by Lantrip Custom Homes. It could save you a lot of time, headaches and money. They make people sign a contract saying they can't make negative posts about them after buying which is illegal according to the Consumer Review Fairness Act. This is why they have an inflated review scoring which doesn't reflect their actual score with people that they've wronged. I am a military member and my family and I recently relocated to Dyess AFB. We’re planning on being here for a long time and wanted to buy our dream home that our kids could run around and we could enjoy the fresh air in the outskirts of town. We saw our current home on the market and fell in love with the view from the backyard. The backyard was the prime selling point for us but it was bare and needed landscaping. We paid substantially over asking price to have sod and irrigation added to the backyard which we agreed to have added after closing on the house. We were assured that Gene and his team would take care of us and not to worry at all. That was a huge mistake. We had sod installed on March 15th and after a few weeks it was clear that there was an issue with the sod. Not only was it not taking, but over half of the sod seemed to be dead even with the proper care and watering schedule. After 1.5 months I reach out to LCH and Jeremy told me something along the lines of - things like that happen and there’s nothing we can do about it. I paid over $10k to have this yard installed and was told they couldn’t help me? I was furious. I spent the following three weeks hounding them to fix it and was left with crickets. The only person that actually took me seriously was the landscaping contractor who agreed to replace the dead sod that was no longer viable. Of all parties involved the landscaper was the only person responsive, caring and understanding of our situation. He’s planning on replacing the dead sod later this week and I will follow up with an update on how that goes. I ended up having to spend 20 hours of my own time to remove the dead sod so that I could get the new sod installed before it got too far into summer. I hired Lawn Doctors to come out and they said their expert opinion is that it’s possible the builder leveled the ground and removed the nutrient rich soil and did not replace it so the ground didn’t have enough nutrients to grow the sod. I asked Gene and his crew if they could cover the excess water bills for the new sod as well as my time for having to deal with this mess and again I was left with crickets. It’s such a small amount for a company like this but it’s a lot for me and my family. Having to cover all these damages right after buying a new house and moving halfway across the country has been such a headache. What makes me more mad than the money though is my little boy has been so excited to run wild and free in the backyard and it’s so torn up right now he hasn’t be able to go back there and enjoy it. With the new sod coming in he won’t be able to really use it for another month or so and by then it’ll be too hot for him to be out there for long. This is a long winded situation but the morale of the story is do not trust Lantrip Custom Homes to do the right thing. Once they have your money they will push you off every which way to avoid having to take care of the mess they made. While their contractor agreed to replace the dead sod, I’ve had to spend dozens of hours of my time and do back breaking work to get the yard I initially paid for months ago. If you’re between builders I would seriously look elsewhere if possible and avoid the headache and customer service that I’ve experienced. If you think I’m just another guy that complains and leaves one star reviews on the regular, please click on my profile and see the 40+ 5 star reviews to businesses that truly deserve it. Lantrip Custom Homes is not one of those that deserves a good review and I hope this review helps others avoid the mess that I’m in."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Local zoning laws and building codes will determine whether you can build a guest house in your backyard. These laws may limit the potential location of the guest house on your lot or the size and look of the structure. If your lot isn’t large enough, you may not be able to build a guest house at all. Speaking with a local home addition company can help you learn about the local regulations and your other options, such as adding an ADU onto the main house.

Shipping container homes last at least 25 years on average, but they can last even longer with proper maintenance. Since shipping containers are made from metal, they’re quite vulnerable to rust and corrosion. This issue is exacerbated in coastal areas or areas with a lot of precipitation. To extend the life span of your container home, install siding that protects the exterior.

Ranch and colonial-style homes are often the most affordable to build. They have a common layout with available designs that are easy to adjust in simple ways without having to spend too much on a structural engineer or architect. Both types of homes' symmetry, simple roofs, and often one or two-story plans mean they often fall in the $150 to $200 square-foot range, putting them right around average.

The steep slope of an A-frame roof withstands high winds, heavy rain, and heavy snowfall, making them popular all over the world. A-frames also offer simple, quick construction. Finally, an A-frame typically has large windows on the non-roof sides to let in a maximum amount of natural light. Consequently, they are often an affordable building solution for the right homeowner and location.

It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build one from scratch. First of all, new construction mortgage interest rates are often higher than traditional loans. Also, when building a home, you're covering the cost of brand-new finishes, appliances, electrics, plumbing, utility hookups, and labor. Between the cost of labor and permits, building a home will often cost more in the long run.
