"They are a nice provider. I talked to them on the phone for about 30 minutes and they sent some samples. We were able to get a discount on designer purchases but not useful on designing the space. Once we told them what we wanted, they were able to help purchase from the warehouse and save about $1,500. I think they became too busy with this big deal. You buy a ticket per room and we still actually have a couple left with this provider. After redesigning one room, we kind of ran out of steam and have not designed the other rooms. Overall this is a good service and it's a good concept. Whomever I spoke with, she was really nice. I would recommend this provider. This kind of service seems to be for people with time and knows exactly what they want. They are super helpful with the designer discount from the warehouse. They don't actual design your room which is slight flaw."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

In Gilmer, placing upholstered furniture near sunlit windows without UV-blocking curtains can quickly fade fabrics. Allowing pets on sofas without washable covers leads to embedded fur and scratches. Eating or drinking on upholstery, especially with sticky drinks or barbecue, increases the risk of deep stains. Overlooking regular upholstery cleaning and using strong cleaners can break down fabric fibers, especially in Gilmer’s humid climate, accelerating wear.

Helpful?

In Gilmer, upholstering projects often use moisture-resistant, breathable fabrics to manage humidity while embracing classic Southern design. Homeowners select patterns that disguise East Texas red clay and coordinate with traditional décor. Compact layouts maximize seating in smaller homes, and multi-functional pieces—like storage ottomans—are popular. Many designs are chosen to transition easily between indoor living areas and covered porches, reflecting Gilmer’s blend of style and practicality.

Helpful?

Upholstery in Gilmer benefits from monthly vacuuming to remove East Texas dust and pollen, plus spot cleaning spills right away to prevent stains. Seasonal upholstery cleaning helps combat humidity-related mold and allergens. Using a dehumidifier during damp months and applying fabric protection every six months can extend fabric life. Inspecting seams and cushions for early signs of wear ensures your furniture stays comfortable and attractive year-round.

Helpful?

Many Gilmer homeowners choose fabrics not rated for high humidity, resulting in premature mildew or fading. Skipping precise measurements—especially for vintage or custom furniture—often causes ill-fitting upholstery. Reusing old padding without checking for moisture damage is another pitfall. Neglecting to apply fabric protection or attempting upholstery projects during peak humidity can also compromise both the look and longevity of the finished piece.

Helpful?

Gilmer’s humid summers can cause adhesives to loosen and fabrics to stretch if not properly treated. Choosing fade-resistant, moisture-repellent materials is essential for long-lasting results. Scheduling upholstery projects in the cooler fall or winter months helps prevent humidity-related issues. Regular upholstery cleaning is also important to manage pollen buildup and prevent mold, ensuring your furniture remains fresh and durable in Gilmer’s changing weather.
