"I hired this company to do adjustments to existing piers the previous owners had had installed, per the advisement of a structural engineer we hired to inspect our property. We also needed significant drainage help due to water backing up into our house and flooding our master bedroom when the heavier storms blew through. We had french drains and 7 catch basins installed to remedy the water issues, and they adjusted 4 piers and installed 3 new ones. They were not the cheapest estimate we received, but Chris sat with me and explained every detail of the scope of work, and made sure I understood everything it entailed. I would have hired them based on customer service alone, but I ultimately chose this company because they were the only company that even offered a warranty takeover on the existing piers they adjusted. The only reason I docked half a star was because on the second day, the crew was working until it was very dark outside, by flashlight, and it seemed they were just in a hurry to get home for the evening (frankly, I don't blame them!) As a result, the catch basins were covered up and another part was not sufficiently graded to allow for optimal drainage, so it pooled in one area. Once the company was notified of the issue, they sent a crew back out to remedy the issue and we haven't had an issue since! Overall, I am very satisfied and have already recommended them to two other friends. Thanks so much, G.L. Hunt!"

"I called Legend Plumbing the afternoon of 3/21 and secured an appointment for the next day. The two plumbers, Mario and Jesse, arrived 15 minutes early, and finished sooner than I expected. They were professional throughout the service. I had called to replace the kitchen drain pipes, but they identified and showed me a major problem with the laundry pipes. I had them replace those as well. The total bill with the extra work came out less than the original phone estimate. I am extremely satisfied with Legend Plumbing and won't hesitate to use them again."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, most installation services include the removal and disposal of old doors, which can include storm doors. It is best to confirm the specifics with your provider or installer.

There are a few ways to make your storm door less drafty. For example, if the bottom of your storm door is letting in air, you can lower the door sweep so there’s a smaller gap between your door and the floor. You can also install weatherstripping or apply caulk around the door frame.

Outswing doors are more popular for exterior doors as they offer more room for moving items in and out of a home. And because the hinges are on the outside of the door, they’re more secure against potential break-ins. But, outswing doors are more susceptible to the elements and are more expensive. Comparing inswing vs. outswing doors depends on your budget, needs, and overall preference.

Each has its use, depending on the scenario. Security doors are primarily intended to keep people out of the home, while storm doors are used to protect the home from extreme weather. Both tend to be made from heavy-duty metal and may include glass panels to allow light to enter the home. Storm doors can feature mesh screens, just like screen doors, to allow for increased ventilation and to keep out pests. Security doors rarely, if ever, have mesh screens.

There are several types of storm doors, including vinyl-clad, steel-clad, aluminum, and wood-core, and each type has its own benefits. For example, vinyl-clad storm doors are excellent at keeping out water, while steel-clad storm doors hold up well against high winds. There are also multiple styles of storm doors, ranging from full-view (made entirely of glass) to high-view (with just a small glass panel).
