"Rather than fix the issue the first 2 calls, more refrigerant was pumped into the system. This cost me $75 for each call plus the cost of the refrigerant. The 3rd time, they fixed a valve and refilled the refrigerant and I am monitoring to see if this really fixed the problem. So I am out $225 for service calls fro the same problem and the cost of the refrigerant. I think they take this approach intentionally."

The overall process went extremely well.

From the beginning Jess provided me with a daily update as to when the demolishing would begin all the way to when the electrician would be installing the ceiling fan.  Since the Great State of Texas doesn't have 365 days of Sunshine you need to contend with the elements which can push back completion dates, I completely understand this, some customers expect work to be rendered regardless if there is a monsoon going on outside but you need to have realistic expectations.  Jess kept me informed daily as to what would transpire throughout the day. Each time work was rendered Jess took pictures to show me the progress and also followed up to make sure it was looking according to our expectations.  During the framing and installation, the Supervisor Alberto wanted feedback as to what we were expecting, along with any other questions or comments that either my Wife or I would have, he wanted to get a sense of our wants and needs since this cannot be explained on paper.  After a couple of conversations, he completely understood our desired aspirations on this patio, and I can honestly say not only did he provide everything that was requested but he made it a point to speak with us after the job was completed.  Alberto wanted to make sure there was nothing overlooked, he came over personally on an off day just to speak with us in person.  I cannot express the gratefulness and appreciation I have towards Jess and his team, one thing is for certain is that they have a customer for life in me.  They will definitely be referred by me to anyone who is looking for this type of service.  To anyone who is reading this and is an individual who believes in acquiring multiple quotes for a service, in order to save time I highly encourage you to contact Accede construction and save yourself some time and headaches, they are 2nd to none.

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Algae-related green hot tub water is generally safe to use, as algae aren't usually harmful to your health. However, if the conditions in the hot tub are hospitable to algae growth, they may also be hospitable to the growth of other types of microorganisms, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bacteria that can cause hot tub rash, or Legionella bacteria, which can cause respiratory illness.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.

The cost to repair a hot tub or spa ranges from about $170 to $550, depending on the repairs needed. Some of the most common hot tub repairs include leaks, clogged filters, and tripped GFCI breakers. If it’s an electrical problem, you should contact a professional hot tub repair service. Don’t DIY electrical repairs on a hot tub, as poorly repaired wiring can make the hot tub a serious electrocution hazard.

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property.

When your hot tub is completely dry, there is typically no need to introduce antifreeze into the plumbing. However, if you desire an extra layer of protection against potential freeze damage, you can consider adding some RV antifreeze to your hot tub lines. Just ensure that you use RV antifreeze specifically, as automotive antifreeze is highly toxic and should be avoided.
