"Dylan, Javier and O.J. did an outstanding job. Dylan performed the inspection and provided me a free estimate. I decided on the spot to sign a contract to repair my in-ground pool cool deck. Javier and O.J performed the work. Completed in one day. Can't say enough about these consummate professionals. Thank-you."

"The services Rain Hunters provided can be described as a work of art.  Additionally, not only is the finished product beautiful and practical, the experience we had with Mr. Garcia was very pleasurable.  He created a design for our new backyard patio/wet bar/landscaping according to our suggestions and sample pictures we found on PINTREST.  It is amazing that he was able to take those ideas and implement every detail in our project.  Our dream backyard has now become a reality and we are very pleased and satisfied.

In addition to the excellent trades and skills his crew provided, the job was finished on time according to the estimated time he provided a the start of the project.  He was very responsive to all our needs and would promptly meet with us whenever we had a question or a change of plan.

The craftsmanship of the work he provided was outstanding.  The project was very involved and required:

Plumbing (sink/faucet for wet bar)

Granite counter-top (for bar)

Built-in grill

Carpentry (pergola installation)

Sprinkler System (completely redesigning current system due to new flowerbeds and patio)

Electrical (provided power outlets at pergola and lighting fixtures throughout the yard)

Rain gutter installation

Brick-work for 30-foot retaining wall/seating bench and kitchen tops for wet bar and grilling area

Landscaping (created new flower beds and planted beautiful selection of shrubs, flowers and ground cover)

Paver brick walkway and patio floor (for walkway and patio floor)

Overall, our experience with Rain Hunters was extremely pleasant because of the attention to details in his work, the beauty of the finished product and the outstanding customer service he provided. After the project was complete, he has followed up with us to make sure that any and all our needs are met and we are 100% satisfied.

I would highly recommend RAIN HUNTERS for any gardening and patio installations and outdoor improvements."

Patios questions, answered by experts

With proper maintenance, the average life span of a screened-in porch is six to eight years for the screens themselves, but the foundation and structure can last for 50 to 100 years. To keep your screened-in porch in good shape, clean your porch screens regularly, patch holes, re-seal the wood as needed, and address any foundational issues right away.

A lanai is a covered patio with open walls, while a Florida room has sides made of mesh screens or windows, with or without partial low walls. In addition, lanais often use concrete or other patio flooring, while Florida rooms may have more indoor-style flooring like tile or wood. Both allow you to enjoy the outdoors without being in the direct sun, but a lanai doesn’t offer any barrier against insects or debris.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, with a potential return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 84%. The actual value added depends heavily on several factors. Climate is a major consideration; homes in warm, humid, or buggy areas (like the Southern regions) see the highest ROI. In colder climates, the value is diminished as the unconditioned space is unusable for much of the year. Other factors that influence the return include the quality of materials and construction, the size of the porch, and the local real estate market. While a screened-in porch can enhance curb appeal and attract potential buyers, it is not included in the home's total square footage for appraisal purposes.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.
