Monday ? 06/22/2015 1:00 PM: Dropped off car and gave key to Alden (Service Advisor). Tuesday ? 06/23/2015 3:32 PM: I called Alden mid-day to get estimate. I was advised the cost was $1,800 and was told that parts needed to be ordered. I gave the approval and Alden promised a call on Wednesday with an update. Thursday ? 06/23/2015 12:46 PM: I called for Alden since he didn?t call on Wednesday. He was not available, so I left a message. I didn?t hear from Alden so at 6:22 PM I called him again and was able to speak to him. I let him know of the message I left nearly 6 hours earlier and he apologized and said he never got the message. He told me that our vehicle would be ready by Friday afternoon, but there was a chance that it would go into Saturday, but he didn?t think it would. Friday & Saturday 06/24 & 06/25: I received no updates at all nor was there a courtesy call from my Service Advisor to let me know that the repairs were going to go into next week. Monday ? 06/29/2015 4:37 PM: Called and asked for Alden. I was told he stepped out. I spoke with one of the ladies in service who told me it wasn?t ready; I asked when it would be ready, since it has been a week since I left the car there and I was advised that only Alden could give me an update. I left word for Alden to call me; which he never did. Tuesday ? 06/30/2015 1:11 PM: Called and asked for Alden and I was advised that he was not there. I talked to the lady who answered and she looked up the vehicle status and made mention that it was ?being posted? and that she would see what was going on and call back. I received no call back so I called Spikes at 5:02 PM and this time Alden answered and explained that the work is taking longer than expected and that the cost will be the same. I asked for a courtesy call tomorrow if it?s not ready tomorrow and he agreed. Wednesday ? 07/01/2015 7:00 PM: No courtesy call, yet another promise broken. Thursday ? 07/02/2015 5:25 PM: I finally received the call to pick up our vehicle, but we chose to pick it up the next day since they were going to close soon. This was almost a week after it was promised. Friday ? 07/03/2015 1:00 PM: Vehicle was picked up. No apologies for the delay, nothing. We paid for the repairs and picked it up. I saw our Service Advisor while I was there and I was hoping he would make an effort to come over and apologize for the delay, but he didn't. In conclusion, if a company promises they will do something, they should. If they can't meet the date they promised the customer, they need to call them before the promised time and give them an update. Spikes Ford failed in both respects on this occasion. He was always prompt, when he said he would be at my home at a certain time he was; if he said he would reply with a follow up email or phone call within a certain time frame, he did. He was never hurried or impatient. Now to my home. This roof is multi level, both with flat sections and pitched. It is a stucco house and was built in the 70's. This house has had leaks since we purchased it over 20 years ago. We have had reputable roofers redo the whole thing, guarantee their work, and after a bijillion calls, finally get so upset they just didn't answer any more, because the thing still leaked....we tried the friend thing...'he knows what he's doing, trust me', to the mom and pop thing....well you get the picture, and nothing worked- this has gone on for a long time. At this point I had no idea who to trust, who would tell me the truth, and who would just take my money, like the last guy to the tune of 10,000. I logged onto Angies list kind of as a last ditch effort, to try and find something or someone that sounded like they could help, as at this point it was raining more IN my house that OUTSIDE of my house, and I am not kidding. I stumbled upon Mr. Silva, and A & V Roofing Company and emailed him after reading all of the reviews, thinking what the heck, let him just take a look. Match made in heaven! He came out, told me that he could help, but I still felt a bit skeptical, as I had heard this a thousand times. We took a chance, and had him do his thing. Boy am I glad I did! These past storms a miracle occurred. For the first time in over 20 years NOT ONE DROP OF WATER FELL IN MY HOUSE!! I had begun to dread the rain, because I had to put pots and pans all over everywhere to catch the water. Now I can enjoy it. I learned that the coating on the flat part of my roof he applied was TPO membranes that are ENERGY STAR®-rated and Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC)-certified, and have been directly attributed to a reduction in energy use and cooling costs for buildings in warm, southern climates. TPO membranes are single-ply roof membranes constructed from ethylene propylene rubber. They are designed to combine the durability of rubber with the proven performance of hot-air weldable seams. They have been tested as having excellent resistance to ozone, are algae-resistant, environmentally friendly and safe to install. TPO is highly resistant to tears, impacts, and punctures with good flexibility to allow for building movement. BIG learning process for me and have totally restored my faith in humanity again! Trust this guy 100%, you cannot go wrong. He and his guys had it done in 2 days.
The work done was just fine as they did stop all the leaks. However, communications, the promise of when the vehicle would be done and the Service Advisor's response to messages I left him were unsatisfactory. I kept a log of all my contacts/attempted contacts and brief details of the...

A gas log fireplace should be inspected and serviced as needed once a year. Preventative maintenance can help keep your fireplace in working condition and save money in the long run by avoiding more costly repairs on parts that could have been fixed sooner with a regular inspection.
The cost difference between a gas fireplace and a wood-burning fireplace depends on the type of wood-burning fireplace installed. The cost to install a gas fireplace tends to be cheaper than the cost to install a brick wood-burning fireplace. Installing a gas fireplace costs about $3,600 on average, whereas the cost to build a masonry wood-burning fireplace can go up to $30,000. The cost to install a wood-burning fireplace insert or stove can cost from $700 to $6,500, about the same as a gas fireplace on average.
The cost to repair a fireplace depends on the type, extent of repairs needed, and your location. The average cost to repair a fireplace varies depending on the part of the fireplace that needs work:
Firebox: $160–$2,500
Refractory panel: $200–$300
Hearth: $150–$800
Mantel: $500–$1,200
Pilot light: $100–$350

Thermopile: $75–$350
Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
