"I needed installation of some landscape lighting and it required my hired pro to tap into the existing house wiring from the exterior wall. M4 Electric arrived on time, understood my plan, gave me a fair estimate and finished the job beautifully and within the promised time. I’ll invite the Pro back for other electrical tasks in my home."

"He did a good job and did what I asked him to do. The price was good as well, but the only thing I would comment on was that they guy who did the installation was not very personable."

"Oscar was very prompt contacting us. He set up a time to come out and give us an estimate and was back to install the same week. He was very nice. He was very prompt the day of the appointment. We did not want cameras to be installed with wires showing and he did a great job. He was able to walk us through the process and get the cameras angles step up exactly the way we wanted them. His daughter helped. They did an awesome job! I have found an electrician that I will definitely be using for future jobs as well as recommending to friends. He charged a very fair price for what we were having done. He installed the cameras up on the eaves of our 2 story home, ran the wires into the attic and had the wires drop in the wall of a spare bedroom where we could monitor them. If you want the job done right, call Oscar.  We had no problems with anything he did and are happy to finally have our cameras installed. He did a much better job than the alarm company would have done and we got to use our cameras that we purchased and were more upgraded than what the alarm companies offer. Very professional, courteous, and helpful!"

"Great. The electricians were very professional and easy to work with. They were careful to clean up after themselves. They installed smoke detectors, replaced GFCI outlets, installed recessed lights in the kitchen, installed under counter lights in the kitchen, a ceiling fan in the living room, and bathroom heaters and fans in the bathroom. I would not hesitate to hire them again."

"Chris called the morning of the appointment, and again when he was enroute.  He showed up when he said he would and didn't mind when my dogs jumped all over him.   He advised the best place to install the lights and got right to it.   The dimmer switch he was going to install ended up being bad, and he said he would be out with a new one that Friday and that it wouldn't take more than 10 minutes.  He called on Friday when he was enroute, showed up on time, and 10 minutes later he was gone!!!  I'm really happy with my new lighting and will definitely ring him for my future electrical needs!

"The salesman I talked to was very informative and gave me a fair estimate and attractive financing option. The technicians that installed it were prompt, polite, thorough, and did quality work. The a/c is working great, and I'm already seeing a significant reduction in electric bill from my ancient 20+ yo system after just a month."

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

Yes, electricians must be licensed, certified, and in most cases, insured. Licensing requirements vary by state and local municipality, but most U.S. municipalities require electricians to hold an electrical contractor’s license. It's always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. Even if licensing is not required in your area, hiring a licensed and experienced electrician often leads to a better end result.

A license is a legal requirement to operate a business and is necessary for pulling project permits. Certifications, on the other hand, are typically voluntary and demonstrate a certain level of expertise. In some cases, a certified electrician may send an apprentice or journeyman to perform the work, but they must operate under a primary electrician who holds the proper license.

Before hiring, you should verify the electrician's license, insurance coverage, and any third-party certifications. You can use Angi’s contractor licensing search to confirm a pro's license status. Additionally, businesses with the “Angi Approved” badge on our platform meet strict criteria, including having the required state and local licenses, passing a background check, and maintaining a high average rating.

The cost of installing a 240-volt outlet for an electric car averages between $175 and $300. Depending on the type of outlet as well as labor costs, you might pay as little as $130 or upwards of $400. Hiring a professional electrician makes up the bulk of the expense but ensures a safe and code-compliant installation.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.
