"We have used Southern Painting on various occasions over the last 20 years and would never consider using any other company - they specialize in residential painting and only use high-quality paint. When we moved to an existing home in McKinney, we planned everything with Christian and he walked us through everything and was great in his communication with us, before-during-after the job. William was the crew Supervisor and he and his crew painted the outside of our 1.5 story home. Additionally, they cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted the 350-foot wrought iron fence around our property. They were prompt, meticulous, providing detailed workmanship. I was home the entire 2-days, and they worked tirelessly in making sure everything was done with excellence. If you hire this company, please make sure you can go to top of the roof and inspect their work once it is done. Initially, they send couple great employees to inspect the chimney and give an estimate which makes one think that he or she is hiring a great company. However, the work they do can be better by ten years old. This company provides bad quality of work and poor workmanship and they make a lot of excuses and false statements. Again, please make sure you can inspect their work if you hire this company. I would not give them a single penny until they finish the work and it is inspected by the home owner. I found many mistakes and damages to my existing shingles. Be very careful."

The smaller the gauge size, the thicker the roof. Usually, a thicker gauge is ideal if your house is in an area that sees a lot of rain, snow, or hail, as it will be less likely to dent.

The green coloration that develops on copper roofs is called a “patina,” and it’s a result of mild oxidation on the surface. The oxidation process is not harmful to your roof. In fact, the surface corrosion acts as a protective layer and won’t spread to the core of your copper roof materials. The discoloration will progress much more quickly in damp or humid climates than it will in dry climates. If you don’t like the green color, you can seal your roof to preserve the shiny, rose-gold look.
