We raise and level your existing concrete slabs at a fraction of the cost and time of replacement. We drill dime size holes in your slab, inject expanding foam under the slab, which compacts the soil, lifts the slab, and fills the voids. We then patch the holes. Quick and easy, this process takes hours to accomplish and the surface can used immediately. No damage to landscape and we are often times done the same day on most jobs. Although polyurethane slab lifting and leveling is not that well known, it is considered a more permanent solution to mud jacking, weighs much less than mud jacking materials, and the holes required for poly leveling are much smaller and less visible than what is required for mud jacking. This innovative process is grown in popularity and is commonly used on many applications including: Interior floor lifting, patio and pool decks, sidewalks, garage floors, driveway approaches, bridge approaches, factory floors, railroad tracks, highways, seawall repairs, power pole setting, and much more.

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.

For homeowners, it’s better to dry grind concrete. Dry grinding is the method described above and can be done by experienced DIYers for smaller projects. Wet grinding requires a big volume of water, a way to collect the slurry created by the water and dust, and an environmentally-safe place to dispose of the slurry. In general, only professionals do wet grinding.

If you're only working with a gravel pad, and there is no concrete foundation, you might be able to upgrade to a concrete slab, but you’d have to speak with a professional concrete expert to confirm and get pricing. If you have a concrete foundation or cement block walls around the area where you want to build flooring, you might be able to pour a new concrete floor over the existing one to forgo repairs. Again, speak with a concrete expert or foundation company to see if this is an option.

You should use cement for a chimney crown. The purpose of the chimney crown is to protect the mortar below from water damage and the effects of weather. For this reason, chimney crowns should only be made using cement. When repairing a crown, use caulks and sealants designed for cement repair rather than mortar repair.

In most cases, yes, masons can build concrete forms and pour concrete for a variety of home improvement projects, including foundation pouring. Some masons may prefer to focus on more aesthetic and artistic masonry work, like building retaining walls, crafting custom fireplaces, tiling, or installing stucco siding, but most also have experience pouring concrete. You can always ask your masonry contractor if they also handle poured concrete projects.
