"Very professional and honest. They did an excellent job and did not try to scare me into buying more product than I needed. Michelle has a lot of integrity. A great job at a fair price. Miss Her Insulation will be our first call for any insulation needs from now on."

"This is a 1 man show, with a few contractors apparently but I only saw Ramy (?). We had an upstairs with hot rooms and my AC guy said we needed insulation, so I called this guy based on the reviews. He took a look and basically said the cheapest way to go was roof vents so we wouldn't have to demolish the ceilings (no attic, so the drywall would basically get all chopped up). I was a bit skeptical since this guy mentions Jesus every chance he can, but said why not as $800 seemed fair enough for 5 vents based on labor, since he did have to chop holes in my roof and seal up the vents later. He did all of it in around 3 hours the same week (plus maybe an hour later to put on more roof tar), always called ahead, and was on time. He didn't have a temperature probe to measure the work, but since he finished, the rooms are a lot cooler and my wife is happy. I found my temperature gun and it's definitely cooler. So given the AC doesn't work as hard and our upstairs stays cool, I'd say he knows what he's doing. I just ignored his constant references to Jesus and blessings and such as I don't hire contractors to spread their beliefs. The guy sounds like a used car salesman at times, but he does seem to know what he's doing, and he does follow up afterwards. So as far as contractors go that's pretty rare."

"Joe and Chris did an amazing job cleaning my totally blocked dryer vent. They were on time and worked great as a team. They took videos before and after the cleaning so I was able to see exactly how blocked my vent truly was. They also showed me evidence of a previous cleaning by another company, where they had not only not thoroughly cleaned the roof cap and vent pipe, but had dumped lint all over my attic instead of cleaning it up! They were also able to replace my dryer vent hose, which had collected water since the vent was blocked at the roof. Expensive? Yes - but beware the service you might get with another company's Groupon. You get what you pay for. My dryer runs better now than it did when it was brand new. I would hire these guys again in a minute. Excellent job!"

"They did an excellent job. The before and after pictures really showed me what they did. They replaced the ducts that were damaged for less than what my a/c company was going to charge and replaced my insulation and did a lot more work as well. I am very pleased with them."

"Rogelio and came out to inspect the job and provided a quick quote and turnaround to spray foam insulate a sub floor of an add-on room and bathroom that had never been insulated and to seal and insulate the attic. Day 1 they showed up on time with professional equipment and spent a good 10 hours spray foam and taping every gap in the attic, adding baffling to control air movement and blowing in non toxic cellulose insulation to recommended r value. The house was so tight after completing the attic that it became pressurized a when we close doors and now the house literally stays below 73° all day when the thermostat is at 79°>. It's incredible... Then they went to work under the house again, using to of the line equipment, safety and professionalism to seal up every gap, every air pocket, insect route I to the house and completely insulate the subfloor to a minimum required r-13. They worked nonstop and without any issues whatsoever. thanks guys!"

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

It is possible to apply plaster on the interior or exterior of your home, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster is easy to apply in theory, but in reality, it can be a challenging material to work with, and it’s difficult to get the finished product to look clean, even, and smooth. Many DIYers end up calling in a professional afterward to touch up the area or even redo it entirely because of mistakes they made in the process. Hiring a plaster pro will cost more, but it’s usually the best option to achieve high-quality results.

For maximum stability, install grab bars on wall studs, as this will adequately support the weight. However, if you don't have access to studs, you can get by with wall anchors. If opting for the latter, choose specialty hollow wall anchors.

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.

You can put drywall mud over paint to even out the surface or entirely resurface it. Sand the surface with 280-grit sandpaper, vacuum the debris and dust with a shop vac, and clean it with a slightly damp cloth. Allow the surface to dry. Apply drywall primer, especially if you’re skim-coating an entire wall. Apply the right type of drywall mud over the surface and smooth it with a trowel. Allow the layer to cure fully, then sand it before applying another layer or painting it.

The easiest way to cut holes in drywall for electrical boxes is to use a spiral saw with a drywall router bit. Hang the drywall without cutting out a hole for the box, but make sure you measure and mark where the box is located on the wall. Once you screw in the drywall sheet, drill a small hole into the box void, insert the spiral saw bit, and move it around the edge of the box using the inside wall as a guide. You can also use an oscillating multi-tool with an electrical box cutout for fast, professional results.
