"Daniel Carport & Patio did a fantastic job. When I first contacted them, they came within a few days even though our metroplex had hundreds of storm damaged properties. Jerry worked out a plan to replace my carport and did warn me that they were backlogged and approximately when to expect the work to be finished. Every contact I had with Jerry Daniel was EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL, exactly when promised and even though there was a rain delay, it was finished when promissed. LOVE my new carport and would not hesitate to contact them for future work for myself or any member of my family or friends. An A+ owner that follows through and does quality work!"

"I need welding work done on my gate that opens and closes. The previous installer cut a few corners and didn't reinforce the operator that opens the gate very well. So, the gate opener was peeling away from the steel post it was welded too. I requested estimates from the 3 professionals that HomeAdvisor suggested, although also did the same thing on Angie's List, and was provided basically the same companies to choose from. I received 3 estimates and not only was Greenville Gate the most reasonable, JR also had the most flexible times in his schedule. Although others had a longer warranty on work completed or may have even been cheaper, the combination of price and timing (scheduling) made me select JR and Greenville Gate. Not only was the estimate reasonable, and the scheduling flexible but prompt, the worst was professionally done. The quotes I had received from other companies had a 3hr minimum. The work that Greenville Gate did only took 2 hours and was cheaper than most of the 3 hours quotes. And the only reason it took 2 hours was because of JR trying to make my gate fit perfectly and not having a lot of experience with my type of gate opener. I am sure he could have finished in 1.5 hours or less if he has worked with my kind of gate opener before. JR provided my with suggestions and tips on how to keep my gate working properly. The time, effort and concern that JR had for making the job perfect is the reason I would suggest using this company. Again, not only was the rate and scheduling a very positive process but seeing how much JR cared about making my gate work perfectly is really the reason I would suggest his service and company to anyone. If I ever have a gate question or issue, Greenville Gate and JR, will be my first call. Thanks again!"

"Called within 5 minutes after requesting several repairs to my wrought iron fence. Showed up right on the scheduled time and proceeded to do the repairs in a speedy and efficient manner at a reasonable price. It’s refreshing to meet a genuine person who stands behind his work with a warranty. We will certainly use him for some other projects."

"The team did a great job installing the new insulated patio cover. Took them about a half day and they cleaned up nicely after. Will definitely recommend and hire again for the car port."

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install an awning yourself, and it can be an excellent DIY project with immediate benefits. This is most feasible for smaller, pre-assembled units. However, awnings are often heavy and awkward for one person to handle, so you should always have at least one helper. If you have difficulty lifting heavy objects, professional installation is recommended to ensure proper mounting and durability.

While brick is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, it’s also an expensive siding material. Other great siding options to consider include vinyl siding, wood siding, and fiber cement siding. Vinyl siding is likely to be the most affordable option, but wood siding can create a rustic aesthetic, and fiber cement is one of the lowest-maintenance siding options available.

A retractable awning won’t necessarily increase your home’s value very much, but it can offer a boost of aesthetic appeal to potential buyers. In the long-term, however, a well-placed awning will save you money on cooling and protect your deck and outdoor furniture from sun exposure during the hot summer season.

It’s not a good idea to allow heavy rain to fall on your awning, as puddling can occur and overload the awning. Your awning should be able to handle a light rain, though you should allow it to dry out before retracting it or open it to dry as soon as the rain stops. As always, consult manufacturer guidelines for using and caring for your awning.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.
