"I had bought a building for my studio and I hired Randy to finish out the inside with stained shiplap, vinyl hardwood flooring, bead board ceiling, cabinets, sink and toilet. Randy is stayed true to my design and was great at communication to be sure he was on target. He was quick and polite whenever I had a question. I highly recommend choosing Packwood Enterprises."

"Wow! Derek Holdridge with Dirty Deeds Plumbing called back after I visited HomeAdvisor site within an hour, on the job by 4pm on a weekend and completed in less than 4 hours. What a great guy! I had yet a second smaller issue with toilet that resulted from floating galvanized pipe pieces and called again Monday. He was out within 30 minutes and fixed it. He is now my go to plumber. I can not thank him enough!"

"I had no knowledge on replacing the water heater; I was so stressed and overwhelmed. When they showed up they were so kind and explained everything that they were going to do. They far exceeded my expectations and did it all in a timely manner! I will definitely call on them in the future for all my plumbing needs!"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, a bathroom remodel is a worthwhile home improvement project that typically adds value to your home, offering a return on investment (ROI) between 60% and 70%. Potential buyers look closely at bathrooms and kitchens, as these are often the most expensive rooms to renovate. A modern, updated bathroom is more appealing and assures buyers that the plumbing, fixtures, and flooring have a long, useful life ahead. Beyond the financial return, a remodel can also greatly increase your day-to-day satisfaction by creating a more inviting, spa-like space. Even a basic refresh with new paint and accessories can make a significant difference.

Different bathtub materials have various advantages and disadvantages. Cast iron and copper are considered the most durable materials because they are dense and resistant to damage from scratches or dents. However, cast-iron tubs are heavy, expensive, and may not be suitable for upper floors. Copper offers unique benefits but requires regular chemical treatment to prevent a patina from forming, making cast iron a less maintenance-intensive option. Porcelain is a good second choice for durability. For those on a budget, acrylic is a popular option, though it is less durable.

Technically, yes, you can put a shower on a Roman tub, but it's not common. The vast majority of Roman tubs are standalone models. Adding a shower would involve installing a ceiling-mounted curtain rod or a custom glass enclosure, as well as redoing the plumbing, making it neither easy nor budget-friendly.

It is possible to install a two-in-one unit that has both a shower and a walk-in tub so you can still have both in smaller bathrooms or provide a showerhead for those in the household who prefer taking showers. You’ll hear these referred to as walk-in tub and shower combo units. Keep in mind that these combo units can take up more space than a standard shower or tub, and you’ll most likely need to hire a pro to install one.

Plan your budget, storage needs, accessibility features, and design aesthetics before starting.
