Small jobs welcome

"Our dishwasher was installed incorrectly and some of the trim needed to be sanded down for it to fit properly. Bourbon Barrel Woodworks was able to do the job properly and smaller jobs in the kitchen as well at a fair price. He came when he said he would and everything was seamless. I would highly recommend."

"I thought the team did a good job. They were quick to fix my issue the next day after signing the contract. I would have gave then "5 Stars" if the owner would have came back out to my house to inspect the job of his workers as a "Quality Control" measure because they did forget to do some caulking around the baseboard area of the replaced drywall, which I noticed after the workers departed, but that was minor compared to the rest of the work they did, so I took care of it myself; otherwise, I definitely recommend hiring them."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Yes, as long as the doors match the dimensions of your old cabinets and use compatible hinges. This method works best if you are using similar materials and door styles that match your existing cupboards. If you’re choosing significantly different materials, like moving from fiberboard to hardwood, then it’s usually best to replace the entire cabinet.

Medicine cabinets are not necessarily outdated, but they have evolved in design and functionality. However, some homeowners prefer other storage solutions, like wall-mounted shelving or modern vanity cabinets with built-in storage. Still, medicine cabinets remain a practical and space-saving choice in many bathrooms. In most cases, potential home buyers won’t be swayed by a medicine cabinet one way or the other.

Properly maintained, resurfacing typically lasts 5-10 years. Factors like surface usage and exposure to chemicals affect longevity.

On average, it costs about 30% to 50% less to reface than to replace custom or semi-custom cabinets. However, the most affordable cabinet replacement projects tend to cost about the same amount as the average cabinet refacing project. These are replacement projects that involve pre-made stock cabinet styles rather than custom designs.

If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.

In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.
