"They were prompt, kept everything clean and didn t rip me off, but instead advised me why a Tankless Electric Water Heater wasn t a good idea for my needs and they cost more. I m very happy with their Plumbers and honesty."

"After two cancellations, two techs arrived promptly on the third appointment. They were clean, nice-looking young men...very courteous and friendly. They surveyed the job, calculated a price, went right to work, and were done in under an hour. The work done was perfect. An estimate they made to perform some extra work if necessary (snake the line is the repaired sink did not drain properly) seemed unreasonably high - an additional $274. The $319 I paid to fix the sink wasn't cheap, since it took them less than 30 minutes to complete, but I wasn't expecting cheap. I would consider using this firm again."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The first rule of plumbing is nothing but water, toilet paper, number one, and number two go down the drain.

To prevent clogs, get yourself:

  • A compast pail where you can clean plates, drain grease, and toss scraps and paper towels.

  • Drain screens for the shower, tub, and bathroom sink to stop hair, jewelry, toys, etc. from going down the drain.

  • Trash cans for everything that shouldn’t go down the drain, like dental floss, hygiene products, and cat litter.

P.S.: If you do drop your priceless ring down the drain, take a deep breath, and then follow these steps to retrieve jewelry from your drain.

It is generally not recommended to pour hot or boiling water down a drain to unfreeze pipes due to significant risks. In some cases, the sudden temperature change can cause more ice buildup or produce steam, which increases pressure and could cause the pipe to burst, leading to costly damage and potential burn injuries. While hot water might help with a partially frozen drainpipe, it is unlikely to thaw a completely blocked water pipe further down the system. Additionally, boiling water can damage plastic pipes over time. Safer and more effective methods include using a space heater near the frozen section or applying hot towels directly to the pipe.

No. You should never pour old paint down a drain or sewer because it can clog pipes and pollute the environment. You must dispose of paint properly and safely. Different types of paint need to be disposed of in different ways—oil-based paints must be taken to a paint recycling center, while you can throw dried-out water- or latex-based paints in the garbage.

To unclog a plumbing vent, you first need to locate it. Look at your home's roofline. The plumbing vent will be a vertical pipe sticking straight up from the roof. Since this pipe runs all the way to the main drain underneath your house, you should also be able to find it in the attic.

There are a couple of things you can do to help prevent your French drain grate from clogging. First, keep yard debris clear so it doesn’t wash into the drain and clog the grate. You can also install a screen or filter over the grate to prevent large pieces of debris from entering the access point.
