"On time, friendly tech, knowledgeable. I have an older house with susceptible plumbing, Jason got my drain on kitchen sink working and laid out a plan for a long term solution. He also suggested (at my request) a diy solution that could save me money."

"Leon Simkayev was very professional and friendly. So was the other tech who came out with him the next day to do the work (He introduced himself, but I forgot his name. He was also friendly and professional). He explained everything they were going to do. He took pictures of the job before and after the job was completed. The work was done in the crawl space under my house. There was about 8 years of dryer lint under the house where they were working, and from the pictures he showed me, they even cleaned that up before they left. That is truly going above and beyond! All the photos were a bonus since I was unable to crawl under the house to see the finished product. I rate them an 11 on of a scale of 1-10! Thank You. I will use this company again in the future."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are several signs that can indicate your leach lines are broken, failing, or in need of repair, including puddles of water or a marshy consistency to the ground above or around the pipes, slow drainage or plumbing backups inside your home, and noticeable odors or gurgling sounds coming from your leach field. Keeping your septic system properly maintained, including having your septic tank pumped at regular intervals, can help ensure your leach lines stay in good working order for a long time.

Snaking a drain can take as little as a few minutes for small, simple clogs, up to two hours or more for tough clogs located further down the drain line. For tougher clogs, a professional drain cleaner can likely get the job done much more quickly because they have the necessary tools and expertise. However, your drain cleaning pro might not be able to give you a firm time estimate until inspecting the clog and its surrounding plumbing.

Start by pouring hot—but not boiling—water down the drain. The heat of the water may be enough to break down the clog. You can also try ½ cup of dish soap or 1 cup each of white vinegar and baking soda. If you choose a chemical unclogging product, ensure it’s appropriate for toilets to avoid damage.

Boiling water helps unclog a drain, but usually only with a harder abrasive such as baking soda or vinegar. On its own, it isn’t the most effective tool. In addition, you shouldn’t use boiling water if you have PVC pipes, as it can soften or melt them. Use a plunger or enlist the help of a pro if you have plastic pipes.

To keep your toilet from clogging, you can use less toilet paper. You can also use a liquid toilet plunger to break up any clogs and keep the toilet drain and pipes clear. When it comes to a clogged toilet, the best route is prevention by using less toilet paper and making sure the mechanisms are all working properly.
