If they were too busy to take it on then they should have just said so. If they were going to be late they should have called. I would never do business with this company. Our upstairs air conditioning unit stopped working and the Texas heat in late June made the situation urgent. In less than an hour, I received a call from Josh, Bark'ers repair technician. Josh arrived exactly when he said he would. He was polite and very professional. Josh evaluated the unit and said that several electronic parts were not working. He replaced those parts and then attempted to restart the unit. The attempt failed. Josh then declared that the compressor was "locked up" and was "bad." He said that the compressor needed replacing, but that the cost of the compressor and parts would be so significant that, given the age of the unit (11 years), he recommended replacing the whole unit. I was reluctant, but agreed to schedule a salesman to give us a bid the next day. Josh charged $138 for the service call. After Josh left, I called two other companies to schedule bids to replace my outside air conditioning unit. These companies were Morgan Air Conditioning and Reclamation, Inc. and Climate Doctors of BCS. The next morning, Pete Morgan, owner of Morgan Air Conditioning, arrived at 10:30 a.m. He offered to evaluate the equipment free of charge before giving me a bid. Mr. Morgan thoroughly evaluated the entire system and concluded that the equipment was easily repairable. He replaced three pieces of electronic equipment (one in the attic unit), and the unit began working. He diagnosed a slightly low freon problem, replaced the freon and suggested that I wait to evaluate replacing the unit(s) until the fall. I called the two other companies to cancel the bids and began enjoying cool air again.
UPDATE: Barker's Heating & Cooling eventually refunded the cost of the service call. According the note attached to the refund check, the reason for the refund was "due to incorrect diagnosis." Kudos to Barker's for acting in my best interest! P.S. I did not request of refund; Barker's made this decision entirely on their own. Business was relatively new in the area and I was the only customer present during my visit. Facilities are small and equipment was limited. Tubs appeared to be self constructed and did not provide any protection from water backsplash while washing my pet. No water proof aprons or protective clothing was provided. Upon completion of my pets bath, came the blow drying and brushing. My pet is of the long hair variety of K-9 and needless to say things got pretty hairy. It seamed like it took forever to get my pet partially dry. I eventually decided to allow my pet to finish air drying, due to I felt miserable after the experience due my clothes being 3/4 soaked in the front from the bath and I was also covered in wet dog fur from the failed drying and brush out attempt. I Have not gone back and would not recommend the experience, especially for anyone with a medium to long hair pet. Staff are always polite and professional with top care given to protect the rest of the property despite the large equipment and heavy work. My only criticism of McFarland beyond the cost is that they can't seem to keep their arborists who also serve as salespeople. In the 5-6 years I have worked with them, I usually have a new contact each year. While the cost seems to be balanced by knowledge and expertise, I wonder why they can't keep their talent. They do seem to keep good notes on my property, as each new person is fully versed when we connect, so I don't have to start explaining the history and my objectives all over again. Bottom-line, if you just need a tree removed, some dead-wooding done, etc., you can find a better deal. If you need a specialist, so far, they remain the best I have found. FAQs for playground equipment service projects in Calvert, TX
The average cost of playground equipment installation is around $500, and most homeowners pay between $330 and $700, excluding the cost of the playground equipment itself. Your total project cost will depend on site preparation requirements, playset size, design complexity, number of accessories, and the swing set materials. Don’t forget to account for the cost of playground surfacing, which can cost between $15 to $160 per cubic yard or $225 per cubic yard for poured rubber.
It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.
Rubber mulch is widely considered the best material to place under a playset. This material option provides more cushioning than traditional wood mulch for added protection, remains cooler than sand and most other materials in direct sunlight, and it’s low maintenance. Rubber mulch is slightly more expensive than other common options at $120 per cubic yard on average, whereas pine bark mulch is $30 per cubic yard. But when it comes to your children’s safety, the investment is worthwhile. Consult your playground equipment installation company about material recommendations before starting this project.
Whether or not you need a permit to install a playground depends on where you live, as some cities require it and others don’t. You can contact your local building department to find the answer or ask your playground equipment installer if you need a permit. Reputable playground equipment companies will know the laws in your area and can help you apply for the permit and coordinate inspections. Building permits cost$250 to $2,000 for outdoor projects.
In most cases, your professional playground installer will put down a playground surface before assembling the fun-filled system. However, you should ask your installer about this service before booking an installment date. Most playground equipment installation companies offer service add-ons like leveling the area, laying down a surface, building a border to keep the surface material contained, and setting up the swing set.
