"What a wonderful to couple to work with! Aron and Christy are professional, efficient, prompt and kind. I was afraid that I was going to have to replace my security gate but Aron discovered that it was only the key pad that was not functioning. He had a new pad installed and was able to provide me with 6 new remotes that would operate both the entry gate and the garage doors within 2 days! He even noticed my LOUDLY clanging garage doors and lubed them up for me at a discounted price. I recommend them HIGHLY!"

"Andy and his son repaired my Liftmaster Automatic Gate after it was damaged by Snowpocolypse 2021. It require them custom engineering a heavy metal bracket to cover and seal the damage created when the armature was torn from the gate body. His creativity gave us a tremendously sturdier gate and contact point which continuous weld on 3 sides. Literally, much better than original preexisting work. They tested and retested until everything was perfect, hand brushed and smoothed all welds, then first galvanized all their work before matching and repainting the repair. It is not visible to anyone not specifically looking for it. Extremely competitive pricing. I highly recommend them."

"T4 has been an awesome company to work with. We started with clearing 4 of our 40 acres. Then built a 74x40’ barn and 2000’ driveway. Travis’s attention to detail and fantastic workmanship is some of the best I’ve seen. He was always responsive and followed up when needed. Will definitely be using T4 for any other work we need done."

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

Ideally, a gate should be able to swing both in and out. However, if it can only open in one direction, it is generally best for it to swing inward. This is often the safest option, especially for deck gates near steps, as you'll want the gate to swing away from the stairs. An inward swing also prevents the gate from opening into a public space, like a sidewalk, and can be more convenient when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

There are exceptions, however. The layout of your property may require a different approach. For example, if your property is on a slope, the gate may not be able to swing inward. You should also ensure the gate can open fully without colliding with any objects or blocking access to other areas. For a backyard garden gate where public access isn't a concern, the direction it swings is largely a matter of personal preference. Finally, always check your local building codes, as they may have specific requirements for which way a gate must swing.

While there’s no hard evidence to support this idea, driveway gates at least provide an additional obstacle that may deter crime. After all, a would-be burglar or trespasser would have to break into the gate and the property itself. The extra work could encourage them to move onto a house without a driveway gate.

Yes, you can convert manual gates to electric operation. Installing a motor and an opening device from a kit allows you to convert any gate so it can open and close automatically. Be sure to buy the correct type of opener for your gate style. For example, some openers are specific to swinging gates, while others are for sliding gates. Get familiar with your swinging or sliding gate parts before you go shopping to avoid having to return to the store for the correct opener.

For homeowners concerned about security, an electric gate may offer peace of mind. Electric gates will require a code or remote to open, so you don’t have to worry about young children getting out of the yard or someone breaking onto your property by simply swinging open the gate. But because it needs power to operate, installing an electric gate will be more complex and expensive.

When making this decision, three essential factors come into play. For budget-conscious individuals, swing gates are the more economical choice. Despite the possibility of both gate types having similar dimensions, many types of sliding gates demand a more intricate opening mechanism and additional components, requiring electrical work for motors and signaling remotes, resulting in higher installation costs.
