"The salesman sold us on a job that was not what he sold. The job started a day late, took 1 1//2 days longer and almost went over the weekend with 11 holes surrounding my house. Most of the crew were very hard workers but a few liked to take long breaks, sitting in our outside rocking chairs leaving chicken bones for our dog to choke on. I was to told that when they left, I would be left with a foot high wall of dirt/concrete surrounding 3 sides of my house. The hoses that were dug in the patios were filled quickly at the very end of the job and dried uneven and look sloppy. I had to call 3 times to get someone to come back out to fix the cracks in the outside walls as promised by the salesman. I was told that there would be a job foreman visiting at least once a day and would keep me updated on the progress. I saw him once, the very last day to get the check for the job."

"Wow! What an amazing experience from start to finish! Everyone from FSS showed up when they said they would, were very knowledgeable, and communicated everything very carefully and honestly. There was no discrepancy between what the estimator (Ryan) promised and what the leveling crew (David, Christian, and Blake) said they could do (and what they did) to re-level my concrete pad. I’m very happy with the results and the entire experience. After dealing with other companies and various contractors for many years, this was a refreshing experience! Highly recommend!"

"

Set up the purchase and waited for response from vendor. I finally had to call the vendor after a couple of days to get things started, they called me back, set appointment for them to look at what I wanted done, gave me a price for what was over the 200 sq. ft. that was included in the package and scheduled a time for the work. They called the day before the scheduled work and asked to reschedule due to rain, I agreed to the change and made arrangements for the change of schedule. The agreed date and time was 9-11-15 at 7:00 am. The project supervisor showed up at 8:35 am on that day and the workers came at about 8:55 am. The supervisor got the workers started setting forms and then left to get supplies and do other errands. He came back about 2 hours later (workers now waiting on supplies). They finished the forms, the concrete truck came and they poured and finished the concrete.

I am pleased with the overall results of the finished look however the cleanup of leftover concrete splatter (driveway, garage door, sidewalk, front door), the chunks of concrete left outside of the forms and the nails from the forms found on my driveway, sidewalk and in my yard I was not pleased with.

Overall the people that I had contact with during the job were very nice people and good workers and I would use them again.

"It's been 5 years since we replaced all grass and foliage in our backyard with "stamped concrete" and had our pool redone. The concrete is in great condition but lost it's lustre and was looking dull. We needed it to look like it did originally. Looked in Angie's List and Home Advisor for some possibilities. Started with 2 companies that were both highly rated in both referral services. The winner ended up being Collin County Concrete. Family owned, friendly, and excellent work. You can reach them at 972-896-9202 (Wayne) or 972-402-0027 (Sherail)."

"All the work done by Jaye Stark and his crews was excellent. In spite of the local heavy rains and flooding in May, he completed the work close to on time. Most important, where the heavy rains resulted in damage to some of the work he performed, Jaye came out quickly to repair the damage. I recommend him to anyone needed masonry work."

"Miguel was prompt and kept in good communication.  He worked with me to verify type of gravel used as the base, and assisted with installation of an improved vapor barrier I supplied myself, (two layers of Tu Tuf #4 and form sides consisting of Foamular 150 glued to the concrete permimeter beam in the garage).  Concrete pour of 5 inches of #4-reinforced 4000-psi concrete when very well, sloping 2 inches from back to front, and smoothed nicely by his team throughout the afternoon into early evening.  Highly recommend M & T Concrete, will ask them back for the rest of the driveway.

"They removed and replaced our back porch with concrete. It turned out beautifully. All of the material from our previous porch was removed. We also had a 220' fence installed. They worked quickly and was even finished before their own deadline. I appreciated how professional and friendly they were, it makes a difference. I would highly recommend this company."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.
