"We’re currently remodeling two bathrooms under the same contract. The first bathroom is complete, and the second one just started this week. While their bid wasn’t the lowest we received, it felt fair and, in hindsight, definitely worth it. The project manager was an excellent communicator—knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and never pressured us to accept the offer. We’re extremely pleased with the quality of work on the first bathroom and are confident the second will turn out just as well. A tip for future clients: make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand. We did, and the team completed the bathroom ahead of schedule. The space is narrow, so the photo angles don’t do it justice, but I hope they still give a sense of the high-quality work delivered."

"I was very impressed with this company and its owner Rhonda.  It took me a while to get all of the correct plumbing parts and Steve their plumber worked very patiently with us.  He had to return a couple of times when extra parts were unfortunately required.  He even cleaned out both air conditioner drains to ensure we had well-draining sinks in this bathroom.  Steve also did the electrical work in our faux painted kitchen working very carefully to avoid doing any damage to the faux finish.  While he had difficulty snaking the new electrical line into an upper cabinet to create an outlet, he showed both patience and determination.  I was very impressed and pleased with his professionalism and work.  I highly recommend this company!

"The work was terrific. Have used 2 times, tiling and painting. My daughter used him for tiling her floors. A really big job. Have recommend him to two friends, and they are using him. Very great person and his workers. Honest, reliable, friendly, and trustworthy. I had no worries or concerns with him and his workers being left alone in my home, even gave him a key. If you have any questions or concerns he will always take time to answer. He makes sure that the job is done correctly and to your satisfaction. I will use him for all my work in my home. I highly recommend him."

"It went very well. They came over first to see what I wanted in the master bathroom. They went and purchased the toilet and returned and put in the new one and took away the old one. They were very friendly and explained everything to me. I was surprised how quickly it was replaced. They did not leave a mess -- cleaned up after themselves and took away all the boxes and old toilet. I felt very comfortable with the gentlemen in my house and will definitely hire them again for other remodeling projects around the house."

"I'm very pleased with the service and equipment. James (the owner) came out to give me an estimate on some additional items I wanted done to my house. During that time I got an opportunity to speak with home a bit more on a personal level. He walked me through step by step what was going to take place. I can honestly say that this has probably been the best company I've used to have work completed on my home. GreenStreet pricing was very reasonable, I highly recommend GreenStreet!"

"Jose brought a team and they began working on replacing the smoke detectors, replacing the diverter and tub stopper - which turned into a trial as the diverter was an old piece and he had to go all over town to find a replacement. He installed electrical GFCI outlets in the kitchen, two baths, one in garage and one outside - and went above and beyond by replacing the receptacle housings as well. He also found a leak behind the tub and repaired it after asking permission. the cost was very reasonable and it would have cost me three times as much with a plumber. I would use Jose again and have recommended him to my realtor and other friends. Great job!"

"Rob and his team are truly amazing! They came in and efficiently installed a root block in our backyard on a Thursday. The following Tuesday they returned and installed a drainage system for our backyard with three catch basins and run off into the street. In the front yard they cut the grass into sod pieces before digging the trench and when finished replaced the grass making it almost imperceptible that they had done the job. Rob is an encyclopedia of information about trees and landscaping and he is always willing to share what he knows. I highly, highly recommend hiring him and his team (some of whom have been with him 16 years) He is honest, knowledgeable, and very fairly priced!"

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.
