"Really really happy with everything about my new fence install with Parker Construction and Fence, LLC. From my 1st meeting with Brian, to follow up and scheduling, to install, I knew I had chosen a company that cared about quality, integrity, and the customer! Their pricing was so competitive from the â Big Guysâ fence companies and I felt good using an established family owned business. My fence is beautiful, excellent quality, and exactly what I wanted. Very pleased to have found Parker fence and would highly recommend them to all!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Chase was great! Kept us informed every step of the way. Very professional. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. I had 2 other fence companies from Angi that cancelled less than 30 minutes before their scheduled initial visit for a bid."

"I was referred to Autograph Constuction by a good friend. They arrived like they said they would and provided me quotes for everything I requested. They asked a lot of questions and made sure that we had all details in writing before the work started. The work they did was excellent and my home looks much better. Josh stayed in contact with us the entire time keeping us updated and responding whenever we had questions. Hugo and John did a wonderful job replacing and staining my fence. There was a little bit of an issue when some overspray from staining my fence caused an issue with my neighbor, but they took care of it right away, Uvaldo did a great job replacing my siding thus preventing any more squirrels from getting back into my attic. I would definitely hire them again!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Lattice should not touch the ground, as it creates a possibility for rot and a termite infestation. It’s best to leave a gap of 3 or 4 inches at the bottom for airflow and to keep the wood dry. You can add stones, bricks, or other decorative pieces to conceal the bottom of the lattice if desired.

Most homeowners don't need to inform their neighbors before constructing a fence, according to the law, but you will need to make sure that you’re building on the property line or on your side of the property line. Otherwise, the neighbor could complain, which would require you to tear down and reinstall the fence. In any case, keeping them in the loop is the neighborly thing to do!

Whether you inform your neighbors or not, always use property records and a land survey to ensure your fence stays within your property boundaries.

Of all the fencing options, the cheapest type is a repurposed pallet fence because it’s made of used materials that are easy to find for free. But if you’re not interested in the DIY game, customize a covered chain link fence or a plain wood fence to provide the best privacy possible.

A fence post set in concrete lasts anywhere from five to over 25 years, depending on how well the concrete was applied and the fence post’s material. Untreated wood posts in concrete could last less than 10 years, but a durable, treated wood set in properly applied concrete could last a few decades. However, all fence posts will wear out eventually, so expect to need to replace your fence post every five to 15 years.

There are two things you can do to make a fence replacement easier—but keep in mind that easier doesn’t mean better. First, you can use a jack or some other type of machinery to pull the post out of the ground. If that’s not available, a digging bar can help.

Second, you can backfill the hole with gravel rather than creating a concrete footing. Keep in mind, gravel is less secure. You should only use it if you’re installing a lightweight fence or have heavier, clay soil.
