"It went extremely well.Mariisno did a great of explaining to us what we were getting.Actually, we had some that was cheaper by 300 dollars.. just irrigation was the company. We decided to go with Mariano because of his knowledge and integrity.. The workers were also great.. It’s only been a couple of days but things appear to be working fine.. The workers cleaned up behind themselves . You really couldn’t tell that they had dug up the yard.I will definitely recommend Mariano Cruz."

"Wonderful. He and his crew arrived on time and started to work immediately. They did a lot of work on my house and an apartment a few houses down. They took out four dead trees, planted four trees, planted hibiscus after re arranging the irrigation pipes that were originally placed in the middle of the bed. They moved that so the hibiscus could be planted. They cleaned up a messy area around the apartment and cleaned up the trees that were scraping the roof of the apartment. All in all, they did a great job and I will use them again."
"I consulted with Rob to remove some trees and to discuss placing a root barrier at the front of my home. I have had some cracking inside the house and had been advised to install a root barrier for some oak trees in the front yard. Rob gave me an estimate for the oak trees but on examining the house and yard said that the trees were quite small to be causing that damage, as well as that the damage was not located where it would be expected if due to the trees. He placed a call to consult with a local foundation expert including video of the trees and the cracked expansion joint on the side of my house. At the same time while he was examining the property he recognized that right next to where the foundation damage is occurring, there is a part of the yard that is chronically waterlogged. Once he pointed it out it was clear that this is the source of the foundation damage, particularly since we've had severe droughts in the last several years but this part of the lawn is usually very wet. Rob also spoke with the adjacent neighbor on that side about drainage issues in his lawn, as some of the water is coming from the neighbor's irrigation. The drainage system he installed cost 600$, whereas the root barrier would have been $3,000 and wouldn't have fixed the problem. So I really feel that Rob's honesty, experience, and thorough evaluation of our problem saved us a ton of money, corrected an issue with the lawn we've had since moving in, and rescued our foundation. The tree removal was great. All of the work was done in about seven hours, and there was no clutter or mess left. I will definitely be a repeat customer for landscaping needs in the future."
"He came out and did free consult for tree problems. Told us that the nationally recognized lawn fertilization service that we have used for years was one of our main issues. Will definitely discontinue their service. Said that some damage was caused by squirrels, also had weed eater damage. Gave estimate to come back and treat all trees."
Sod is different from grass because it comes in thick layers of mature grass, roots, and soil for quick transportation and easy installation. This is different from seeding your lawn, which involves directly laying grass seeds into the ground. Grass seeds take approximately 30 days to begin germinating and up to 18 months to reach maturity, whereas sod comes ready to go.
Soaking grass seeds in water before seeding is called pre-germinating. It’s not necessary but can be very helpful in some cases. Some grasses like are very slow to germinate, and basic seeding on the ground is unlikely to be effective—that’s especially true of cool season grasses like Kentucky bluegrass, rye grasses, and Bermuda grass. Soaking these seeds in a bag or bin of water for one to four days beforehand can give the grass the start it needs to survive.
Shade-tolerant grass seed still needs between four and six hours of sun to germinate, and many types require a little extra care to thrive. However, it is possible to plant new grass seed in shaded areas when you choose the right variety.
Seeding a lawn offers several advantages over laying sod, primarily related to cost and variety. Seeding is less expensive upfront, making it a more budget-friendly option. It also provides a much broader selection of grass varieties, allowing you to choose the best type for your specific climate and soil. Additionally, seeding allows grass roots to establish directly in the native soil, and the installation process is typically less labor-intensive than sodding. However, it's important to consider that sod offers better immediate protection against weeds and erosion.
Yes, it's common for lawns to look bare after dethatching. Dethatching brings soil to the surface to create a "bald" look on your lawn. While you may choose to patch or reseed your lawn if bare patches seem excessive, it's normal for a lawn to look bare after dethatching. With the layer of debris that was blocking water, nutrients, and air from reaching your grass now gone, your lawn is likely to grow better than ever.
