"My husband and I had just bought our first home and wanted to install hardwood floors and remove the carpet before moving in. Jerry was the first contractor we called in for an estimate. He was punctual, cordial and very professional. He quickly walked around the house and measured every room and gave us a total price and a time frame for the installation. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.Once we called Jerry back and set the dates, his crew came over to pull out the carpet and level the floors. His crew was punctual, very respectful and knowledgeable as well. Jerry and his crew came back a couple of days later to install the hardwood floors and did an outstanding job. Even though they had to wait for the hardwood  to arrive (delay in delivery), Jerry never said anything but "it is ok, we will wait". Once the hardwood arrived, the crew worked around the clock to make up for the lost time and finish the job the same day.
Our floors are gorgeous and perfectly installed. Jerry pays attention to every detail that goes on with the job. His crew was tidy and neat and left everything intact (including our freshly painted walls!). He is honest, hardworking and did an AMAZING job!
We are super happy with our new floors and the job that Jerry performed at our house. We would highly recommend him to any friends or family!"

"Painted our entire downstairs areas in a short time and worked around our scheduling conflicts. Also did some fence work that we couldn’t be any happier with. Very reasonably priced and a hard worker. Hiring for other home repairs in the future. Small company and usually a two man team, so if you have a small to midsized project and you have the time, this is who to call."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

If the hearth ends against a wall, you can use a tile cutter as you normally would. However, if the edge of your hearth ends with no surface pressing against it,you may want to look into rounded tiles. These give a smooth edge to your hearth and make sure cut edges aren’t visible. You can also see if the tile you have has pieces that have been glazed or rounded on one edge. You’d then cut the tile and place it normally, with the cut edge facing inward.

Like glass tiles, you will not need to seal most porcelain tiles, particularly if the porcelain is already glazed. It depends on quality. Porcelain is very water resistant, but it is not 100% waterproof. To avoid staining, some homeowners use a penetrating sealer. It is also a good idea to seal your grout. Unless you use epoxy grout, grout is very porous and can harbor bacteria, mold, and mildew.

The choice of whether to tile or use an acrylic tub surround is up to you and can be based on a number of factors, including aesthetics, cost, waterproofing, ease of cleaning, and maintenance.

Tile is a beautiful, classic bathtub surround choice; while tile installation cost is higher, it’s customizable and offers visual appeal. Tile is also harder to clean and presents waterproofing problems because of grout lines. Acrylic surrounds can be more affordable, don’t require much maintenance, and are easier to clean. However, they aren’t usually as visually appealing and may need to be replaced if they become damaged.

Tiles last for around 100 years or more. Tiles on backsplashes can last even longer since they’re less likely to crack under foot traffic or from accidental drops, but even tile in high-traffic flooring can last a century or more with proper installation and upkeep. Porcelain tiles are denser and stronger than standard ceramic tiles, so they’ll last longer, often pushing past the 100-year mark.

Penny tile should be sealed to protect the grout from moisture and keep stains from damaging the look of the tile. If penny tile is in a humid or high-traffic area, like a bathroom, kitchen, or entryway, it needs sealant. Any type of tile and grout is best maintained with a sealant reapplied by a pro every one to two years.
