"I need a deck repaired. I contacted them. On a Sunday Mr. Mabry came and gave me a quote that was very affordable and scheduled for Friday. He confirmed arrival several days during the week. Came on time on Friday and did a fantastic job and cleaned everything up. I highly recommend them."

"It’s really hard to trust people doing any sort of work around your home. I’ve used these people before, and it restored my faith in good people. The jobs were quick. They remain clean. The prices were much better than the other people and most of all they were very professional. If you’re thinking about getting any sort of work, I highly recommend 10 out of 10 thank you true media blasting you’ll be hearing from me again."

"Rob was very helpful in helping with picking out paint colors, and, letting me know how dark, or, bright they would look with the natural light on the room. He used some unused paint that he had on hand to prime coat some of the rooms, thus saving me money. They repainted when I chose a color that I later didn't like, with a minimum of eye rolling. Lol The workers cleaned up after themselves everyday. They did excellent Sheetrock repair, and, Rob is an excellent detail painter -- no taping needed!

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s definitely possible to build a pergola on an existing deck. All you need to do is attach the pergola support beams to the deck’s joists and build up from there. Beware that mistakes can damage your deck, so if you’re at all unsure of the process, play it safe and hire a pro for your custom build.

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.

Composite decking requires a solid foundation, substructure, or subframe to ensure stability. This base is typically composed of posts, beams, joists, and footings. The frame's joists can be built from various materials like composite, plastic, timber, or metal, as long as the base can support the deck's weight without shifting. A professional deck builder might recommend installing the frame on a solid concrete base for added durability. The final design and materials for the substructure will depend on your budget, the type of deck, and environmental conditions.

Finding a reputable deck builder should start with speaking with a local company and asking for samples of past work and references. You can review the company’s workmanship and speak with past customers to learn what the customer service was like throughout the process. It’s also a good idea to read online reviews and check the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website to see if the company has a history of customer complaints. If you can get a referral from a family member or friend, that’s another great option.

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.
