Small jobs welcome

"The home smelled good and was cleaned up well. Appreciated that Joy could come when we needed her. When we went in after the cleaning it smelled clean which we really appreciated. The bathrooms and refrigerator were cleaned very well which was not an easy job."

"We had a new deck and stairs rebuilt by Mabry Construction. They did a fabulous job. Kept us updated on a daily basis on what they were doing and progress made. They made suggestions that we never considered and finished the work promptly and the new deck is beautiful. They were a pleasure to work with - very courteous, hard working, and they gave us a great price. Cleaned up everything, even some messes that they didnâ t create. Will definitely be using them again for our future projects."

Customers say: True professional

"Antonio did a fantastic job cleaning our windows, inside and out. He also pressure washed the eaves on the back of our house. We have several windows that are difficult to reach, including some odd shaped windows which made his job more difficult. We live on the lake so windows and eaves on the back are particularly dirty. Would highly recommend Antonio/TNT Window cleaning."

"Two very professional folks showed up for the work. Showed me before and after pictures. They not only did a great job cleaning out my duct work and dryer vent, but kept my house clean while doing so. Probably completed the job in under two hours. Highly recommend!"

"Outstanding experience! Mark and Daniel were extremely knowledgeable and professional! They were quick to give us an estimate and once we accepted it they were here in 2 days!! We had our house, roof, wraparound front porch, deck, pergola, out building, sidewalk and driveway washed and cleaned! They even took us through the process of having our roof treated for algae and moss. They spent about 10 hours at our property and worked tirelessly in the heat to make sure everything was perfect! We couldn’t be happier with the results! Highly recommend! 10/10"

"The Chimney Solutions rep was on time, friendly, and professional. He took precautions to keep the area clean and worked efficiently. He also examined the chimney structure on the top of the house and in the attic for any deficiencies. He did point out updates that should done to the chimney to improve function and safety--especially since the chimney was house was built prior to current code. Chimney Solutions are definitely my go-to in the future."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You can nail or screw composite decking, but 3-inch decking screws are the better fastener choice. Unlike nails, decking screws won’t back out of the composite material over time. There’s also little danger of splitting composite material when driving screws, so you don’t need to pre-drill holes unless otherwise recommended by your decking manufacturer.

To flatten a cupped deck board, start by ensuring it’s dry. Then, try flipping the board over so the cupped side faces down and reattach it. If that’s not possible, you can use screws to pull it tighter to the joists or plane the edges slightly to reduce the cup. It’s best to replace severely cupped boards.

Yes, pressure washing a wood deck can be a good idea as it effectively lifts ingrained dirt, mold, and mildew, improving the deck's appearance and longevity. However, it must be done carefully, as it's easy to damage the wood, especially softwoods. To pressure wash safely, use a lower pressure setting and a wide, 40-degree fan pattern nozzle (often white). Keep the nozzle at least a foot away from the wood surface and maintain constant motion, avoiding hovering in one spot to prevent gouging.

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.
