"They were very thorough in looking for problem areas and sealing the house. They sealed the house so rodents can’t get back in. Another company said they sealed it but they didn’t do a good job. Alpha Wildlife fixed the other company’s mistakes. They are friendly and helpful. They really are one of the best company we’ve come in contact with."

"We had a critter in between our lower level drywall ceiling and our upper level wood floor that we could hear gnawing incessantly every night for 3 nights in a row and then it just stopped.  I called some "exterminating" companies but no one would go up in the attic because we don't have a floor up there or pull down steps...what?!!...I was shocked!!  Isn't the attic and the basement or crawlspace the prime location for pests to run amuck?!!  And if I had a floor up there, wouldn't it be a bonus room?!  Anyway, even though we were not hearing the problem in the attic, I still wanted it checked out to be sure the critter hadn't gnawed through whatever it was working on and relocated!  I was so frustrated.  I can't even remember what I googled but Classic Wildlife Control came up and boy am I glad!!
I called in the afternoon and Doug came out the very next morning!!  He was neat and professional, listened to all my ramblings and even put booties over his work boots to come inside!
He did a thorough inspection and then discussed our options.  I immediately felt at ease with him because he wasn't trying to sell me any contracts or guilt me into buying anything like some of the other companies I contacted.  He simply told me what to do to help determine if we had critters coming in and out of the suspected areas and to call him in a couple of days to let him know and he would come back and set traps or we could close off the holes and rest at ease.
We also knew that our bird netting at the gables inside the attic was coming off at both ends, another reason I was adamant about someone checking out the attic, and Doug explained that they use wire mesh netting on the outside of the gables and paint it to match your house because if it is in the attic, you cannot tell if it is ever damaged by something trying to get in because you most likely don't spend a lot of time in your attic (unless it has a floor and pull down stairs I guess! lol) and also it is much harder for a critter to push through the mesh when it has the support of the outside of the house instead of when it is simply stapled from the inside...I hadn't thought of that!  So needless to say, he is going to be installing that in the next few days!
What a wonderful experience all around.  Great guy, very knowledgeable and full of common sense which is, unfortunately, not so common these days!!
Thanks Doug and Angie's List!!

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Carpenter ants don’t eat wood. It’s a common misconception because many kinds of termites eat wood as well as live inside it. Carpenter ants, however, are omnivores and only chew into wood to create pathways and nests, discarding the chewed wood as frass which is a major indicator of a carpenter ant problem. They prefer to eat smaller insects, sweet things like spilled honey, and sources of protein like pet food.

Stink bugs hate strong, fragrant scents like clove, lemongrass, spearmint, and Ylang Ylang, so you can use essential oils as a natural deterrent. (Always keep them out of reach of your pets!) In the garden, plants like lavender, garlic, and catnip can ward off stink bugs thanks to their pungent aroma. Also, avoid decorating with white, as stink bugs are oddly attracted to it.

Consumer-brand foggers or bug bombs are considered safe overall. Still, it's essential to read the instructions carefully as the vacating time varies depending on the type of bug bomb you use. Most of the time, it's advised that all humans and pets are out of the area for at least two to four hours after initiating the fogger process. It's also a good idea to vent the space by cracking open some windows for several hours after you're back inside.

Popular nesting areas outside of a home include eaves, porches, gutters, and chimneys. However, some birds can make their way into your attic or ventilation systems. A reputable removal service will inspect your home's interior and exterior for any evidence of roosting and nesting birds while they prepare to remove them.

Carpet beetles do not bite humans, but their larvae can cause skin irritation that’s often mistaken for bites. These tiny, bristly larvae have barbed hairs that can lead to allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, resulting in red, itchy welts or rashes. While the irritation may resemble bug bites, it’s actually a response to contact with the hairs or shed skins, not an actual bite. Adult carpet beetles are harmless and primarily feed on pollen, but their larvae can damage natural fibers like wool, fur, or leather in carpets, clothing, and upholstery.
