"We had a very good experience with Michaels and Josh was the plumber that came out and was very professianl and explained everything to us ad kept us involved which we really liked . we had roots in our main sewer line and josh was able to camera the line so we could see what was going on . Once we decided we wanted to get the line replaced he gave us price for work and was able to set it up while he was out. Our yard had to be dug up and new line installed for drain and everything went just as they said and everything is back up ad running great and no more roots . thanks to Michaels and there great team for doing a great job and getting our issu took care of"

"These guys showed up on time and ready to work. They diagnosed the problem...including an explanation that actually made sense (e.g. the house had settled a bit over the years and smashed the old drain line so that it was no longer round and it let in dirt and roots). They worked, hard, in 100 degree heat with good spirits and finished the job quickly and in budget. There were other problems with old pipes in our basement to which they said, 'If it was mine, I'd leave it as it is until it gets worse...could be next year, or 15 years from now".....which made me feel better and saved me a lot of money."

"They are very professional. They ran into several problems that were uncontrollable and pushed through. They even stayed late to finish the job so I wouldn't have to pay for another day. I will definitely be using Freedom Plumbing again."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

Check connections, clean fixtures, and apply finishing or protective coatings to preserve months' worth of shine and functionality.

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.
