"The work was impeccable.  He took pains to be sure the ceramic tile in our kitchen and porch were properly aligned and visually pleasing, in the cut of the tile and how he edged the front porch.  He also did an excellent job installing the countertop, faucet and sink.  He cleaned as he went (VERY important to us since these projects took several days to complete), and they were thoroughly professional in attitude and the quality of their work.  We also appreciated the detailed written quote he provided prior to being hired for the job.  Another biggie:  He showed up when and where he said he would......practically unheard of in the contractor world!  He and his wife were a delight to work with, and we frequently recommend them to family and friends."

"Extra work was performed with extra expense & not discussed with me. We eventually settled but the roof leaked in 2 separate places. They said they would fix and it was "under warranty ". At least four requests were made to "fix it". They never showed up. I had to pay $2,600 to repair their insufficient workmanship. I would never allow anyone I know to use them."

"Hard working crew. What would have taken an average crew of 4, 2 weeks to finish, these guys did in 5 days. Owner came within an hour to give estimate. I added a couple of small jobs after the estimate and they charged no extra. These guys know exterior and interior restoration. Our log home hadn’t been treated in over 10 years but no looks better than ever. Project Foreman presented me with any issues as he found them and gave me options. My neighbors have now hired them. "Greg and his crew did some landscaping for us as well as put in some gutter pop up drains. He was there on the day he said he was coming and I am very pleased with him and his crew. They do not goof around they do the job and are easy to talk to. I am pleased with the work he did for me. I would not hesitate to use him again in the future and I plan on doing so."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, it would be best if you waterproofed your shower walls before tiling. The cement backing board behind the tile is not waterproof; it’s only water-resistant. On top of your tile backing board, be sure to use a waterproof shower membrane before you start installing your shower tiles.

When tiling over concrete, you should install an anti-fracture membrane after the concrete has been prepared. The anti-fracture membrane acts as a moisture barrier and should be installed to protect the tiles from moisture which helps maintain their integrity. Often, Ditra, a brand name, is used interchangeably with moisture barrier.

You cannot tile directly over hot mop waterproofing because tile requires a smooth, solid surface to adhere properly. Additionally, the shower bed pan needs to be raised and sloped toward the drain to prevent water from pooling. However, you can hot mop and apply a sloped mortar bed over the top (to which the tile can then be adhered).

There are several different products that allow underwater repair. Pool putty can help repair chips, cracks, and loose tiles without draining your pool, but it should only be used for a temporary fix. Certain two-part epoxy adhesives will cure underwater, too. That said, while it is technically possible to fix pool tiles underwater, it is usually not ideal, depending on the depth of your pool. You will still have to reach the tile, which means you might have to dive and make the repair while submerged.

You can attach tiles to a wall using thin-set mortar. You’ll also need a notched trowel to create grooves within the adhesive so it flattens completely when pressed in and securely holds the wall tiles. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold. While it sounds simple enough, proper planning and execution are crucial, so carefully review the steps in this guide or hire a pro tile installer to complete this project.
