"I hired Flowshield gutter protection. The experience was great from start to finish. The representative arrived on time and did an inspection on my home. We evaluated my initial gutter repair, they were able to repair my gutters but I wanted to protect my home so I also invested in gutter guards. I was please with quality of material and the installation. I would recommend them to anyone."

"It went extremely well. Dylan was always very prompt, professional, and courteous. The pictures and explanations he provided regarding the state of my roof before the work was performed added to our confidence and understanding of why and what needed to be done to repair the damage from a previous hailstorm. The price and quality of services were excellent. We would not hesitate to hire Grizzly Roofing again."

"Work seemed to go quickly and smoothly; however there was no cleanup. Debris removed from the gutters was dropped to the ground and left. Call me old fashion, but I'd rather not have men working on my property bare chested, especially when belly hangs below belt."

"Advance Gutter Systems just finished up my house this morning. They did great work and very professional! Despite all the weather delays they always kept me up to date on when they would be coming out. They are very reasonably priced and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for good quality gutters. My German Shepard even loved them. They would toss the ball to him as they worked out in the backyard. Great work!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals can spot and rectify downspout issues such as clogs, leaks, or disconnections during cleaning. They ensure proper water flow, protecting the building's foundation and preventing water damage or erosion.

On average, gutters need to be replaced every 20 years. Unprotected gutters in more extreme weather conditions are more prone to breaking and may need to be replaced sooner. Meanwhile, proper maintenance can extend your gutter’s life span even further. That said, proper installation, gutter hangers to provide additional support, and gutter guards or helmets all play an important role in how long your gutters last.

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.
