"I'm a disabled vet so I needed stress free and I got that. I had a last min same week move. I had a 2 bedroom 2nd floor apartment worth of furniture and boxes and needed it move under 20 min away, they were done in under 3 hours, pick up and drop off into a 2 story home. They answered questions and took direction where needed. They were pleasant/ easy to work with and talent about all costs (only their hourly charge applies, but just prorated if it were under the hour marker, i.e 2.75 hours didn't round up to 3 hr, it was 2 hr plus three 15 min charge which came out cheaper and paid only after the full satisfactory move was complete ) . Thank you for helping me move ?"

"Unfortunately I had to change my moving date so the move hasn't happened yet. They are very nice and professional. They informed that I could push my moving date forward so I would not lose my deposit. I am very grateful for that."

Moving questions, answered by experts

The cost of a long-distance move depends on several factors, including whether you hire movers, use a moving truck, and the size of your move. For a 1,000-mile move, you’ll need to hire interstate movers and ask them for an estimate based on the details of your move. Keep in mind that a 1,000-mile move will likely cost $10,000 or more.

Moving a shed costs between $200 and $1,000, with a national average cost of $500. The exact cost will depend on the shed size, the move distance, and whether you hire professional movers or tackle the move as a DIY project.

The most cost-effective way to move is to DIY most of the moving tasks, including packing, driving the moving truck, and loading and unloading. While DIY moving is typically the least expensive option, it makes the process much more time-consuming and difficult. To eliminate some of the physical and time stress associated with DIY moves, consider hiring professional movers for the most essential tasks, such as loading and unloading furniture, and completing easier tasks on your own.

Deciding whether it's worth it to hire movers depends on your budget, patience, and physical capabilities. It's difficult to gauge the amount of work that moving calls for, and it's easy to be off by about tenfold.

If you're able to call in some favors and round up friends to help, you might get through it just fine, but if you only have a few hands helping, things can quickly get overwhelming. Either way, bringing in the pros will save considerable time and stress, so if it's within your budget, it's a great investment.

You can move a pool table without taking it apart only if you’re moving it a short distance, like from one room to another, and with the help of several people or a professional moving company. But if you’re moving the pool table from one home to another, experts strongly advise you not to move it without taking it apart. If you leave it in one piece, you could risk not only your own personal safety, but also risk damage to the pool table itself. The bumpers could need to be realigned and the slate may have to be re-leveled if you try to move a pool table without taking it apart. In this case, the risk usually doesn’t outweigh the reward.
