"Chris and his team did a fantastic job. I received my estimate quickly and they were able to start within a couple of weeks. The scope of work increased due to more rotten wood than anticipated and some framing that had to be added. Anthony was project manager and he communicated all additional work and costs in advance. He was able to point out a lot of shortcuts that were taken when the house was built- I learned a lot and will know what to look for in the future. The project was completed on schedule- there were a couple of delays due to weather but I was always contacted ahead of time if work was not being done on those days. While I spent considerably more than I anticipated, I was very pleased with the quality of the work and professionalism and I am confident that the exterior will hold up for years to come. I would highly recommend them and would utilize their services again."

"Prompt and professional service, the crew were very friendly and polite, they completed the work as contracted in less than 4 hours. We had 3 beams and 9 jacks installed. They were careful to protect our hardwood floors and cleaned after installation. Our only criticism is the crew were not wearing masks and our door was frequently left open."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

There are two ways sandblasting could be dangerous: improper use of the equipment so that the stream touches your skin, and air particles created during the sandblasting process. While the first is easier to avoid and fairly obvious, the second has the potential to be more serious and is much more difficult to understand. This is why you should always hire a pro to sandblast, as they understand the dangers associated with the process. If proper safety measures are taken, then sandblasting is rarely dangerous.

Sandblasting removes old paint, rust, and grime efficiently, providing a clean surface for refinishing.

The cost of sandblasting depends on the scope of the project, the surface type, labor, and equipment required. Services typically cost between $50 and $80 per hour, though most professionals charge by surface area at a rate of $1.50 to $7 per square foot. Total project costs can range from $700 to $12,500, with an average homeowner spending around $3,200 to sandblast a 1,000-square-foot surface.

Sandblasting refers to the process of cleaning a surface using compressed air and aggregate. Soda blasting is the gentlest type of this method, but it differs from sandblasting that uses mineral or other aggregate, since sodium bicarbonate breaks apart more easily than other forms of blast media and, therefore, cannot be reused.

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.
