"From the moment that Alan came to our home to look at the job through completion we were impressed. He explained all the different options that we re available to us for a bathtub conversion to a walk in shower and quoted us a price for doing some ceiling fans and installing 2 storm doors. He was clear on the timeframe to start and how long it would take. Several days later I asked for a quote on removing all the old flooring and installing all new vinyl plank in the whole house. His price was again the lowest but beyond that his explanation of how he would do it and the timeline needed. We closed on the house February 3rd and met Alan that day explaining we needed to move in March 15th. Alan began the job 2 weeks later advising he would be be done by March 11th. Even after us adding some additional odd jobs and us causing 2 days lost due to driveway repairs and improvements Alan was done on time. He delivered on everything promised with high quality work in an extremely professional manner. We could not be happier with everything he did. Many times a contractor is selected based on price but Heartland not only had the best (by far) price the workmanship was like none that we have ever had before from someone I was not already familiar with. "Joe  provided a new frameless glass door for a shower we'd had some repair tile work done in. The floor and curb were re-done and were great. However, the walls were the existing shower walls and were not all that straight. Another glass door provider told me there would be "extra silicon" in the areas where the tile bowed out some. But Joe did a really beautiful job, and while it's true that the tiles aren't perfectly flat and straight, there are no globs of silicon--nothing that I would have even noticed was "extra."  He was absolutely meticulous about measuring beforehand and seeing where the glass might need to be cut at an angle instead of straight. His price was also less than the other two providers I got estimates from. I called three local customers before hiring him, to ask about his work, and all gave glowing reviews. I would not hesitate to use him again."

"The granite was beautiful and for the most part the installation was done well, but the service fell down in a few ways. We had hired them before to remodel two bathrooms and that went well. This time around though, we were disappointed. First, the counter for the half bath was cut wrong: the hole for installing the sink was off center, by a lot -- 6 inches or more. Since there was no surplus of that piece of granite, we had to go with another which was not quite the same. Then for installing the bar sink in the kitchen, the worker did not ask me before cutting in the hole for the faucet, and even when I was standing right there, he was on a phone call as he worked and would not talk to me. He cut the hole too close to the small sink; we may have to replace the faucet with a smaller one. Third, we wanted a white sink in the bath. The rep in the store kept trying to sell us one which was off-white. We were told that was the only "white" one of that size. We had a plumber ready to install the sinks. I went home, went online, and bought an actually white Kohler sink of the right size which I got delivered the next day, free express shipping. About the same cost as at Knoxville Stone Interiors. The company reps were amazed as my success. I was surprised that they wouldn't have known how to do what I did."
