"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. Thank You!"

"I found Best Moving through Home Advisors. I thought their pricing model was fine for what I needed them to do, finish my packing and then load, move, and unload in the new house about 45 miles away. I could have engaged ye olde family movers with pickups and trailers, but that would have been too drawn out. Plus, two of my brothers moved earlier this year. Calling on them wouldn't be fair. Best did a great job. They arrived in a timely manner given that they start in Collierville at the beginning of the work day. They were equipped with sufficient boxes and packaging materials. On the pack day, Patrick, Alex, and Anders the Intern kept moving and boxing, getting done pretty quickly. Their lively, but clean, banter made the work seem almost fun. Since I was staying in the house that night, they left me with maneuvering room. When they arrived the next day, the same three guys started steadily loading the truck. They were careful with furniture that had to be taken apart. None of my glass items were damaged, no matter how big or small. I didn't find any scratches or scrub marks on the furniture when things were reassembled (if needed) and moved into place in the new house. Though it was a scorcher, they kept up a crazy pace even while cracking jokes as they went. They caught unexpected traffic between the houses, so they came straight on, skipping lunch. I have no complaints, but plenty of appreciation. They did a wonderful job from end to end. Patrick, Alex, and Anders represented Best very well. If you are moving, consider Best. Also, make a point to have cash on hand to tip the movers and plenty of cold water to keep them hydrated . They can pack and move stuff so much faster than you can."

"Brandon did an awesome job on laying my vinyl flooring down, running ship lap on walls. I try to refer him to as many people as I can at my job site and my neighbors that I live around. He is young and ambitious. Brandon is a great handy man."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Start by removing any obstacles in the moving path, such as side tables, lamps, or other furniture. If your couch has legs, unscrew them. Measure the couch and the stairway to ensure you have enough room; if it seems unlikely, examine the shape and size of the couch and decide whether it might fit better up the stairway and through doorways on its side, held diagonally, or moved in an upright position.

Consider putting the sofa on a dolly to go up the stairs. It should be able to fit upright on a standard dolly with wheels. You’ll still need to lift the dolly—with the couch on it—up the stairs, but it will reduce the physical strain. The person holding the dolly should pull the couch up, while the helper should be on the other side, keeping the couch secure and steady.

If you don’t have a dolly, the person in front should lift the couch slightly higher than the person in the back to create more stability. The person in the back should also be the stronger mover, as most of the weight will be distributed there.

Unscrew and remove furniture legs if possible. If it’s not possible, then run the straps parallel on the inner side of the furniture legs. Never put your straps on the outer side of legs where they can easily slip off.

Yes. You’ll at least need a permit in the state you’re moving from and the state you’re moving to (if applicable). If you’re moving across multiple states, you may need a permit in each state you drive the mobile home through. Your moving company can help you obtain these permits.

Most hardware stores or shipping centers have mirror boxes and moving supplies. You can find most of what you need online, but if you’re still having trouble, contact your movers or moving truck rental company. They may sell boxes and packing supplies, too.

The number of boxes you need to move depends on the size of their house and whether your style is minimalist or maximalist. However, on average, most people need around 60 boxes to move. It’s essential to pick the correct box sizes to ensure efficient packing.
