"I couldn’t be happier with the tree removal service we received from San's Tree Service. From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and incredibly efficient. They handled everything safely and with great care, including cleanup—our yard looked better afterward than it did before! Their communication was clear, pricing was fair, and the entire process was stress-free. Highly recommend this company to anyone needing tree removal or cleanup. Outstanding work!"

Emergency services offered

"We needed our large, beautiful oak tree pruned. First, to remove branches overhanging our roof, and second, to make sure the tree was healthy. Joseph Sheffey of Rowan Tree Care came to the house, made a thorough assessment of the tree, gave us some wonderful recommendations. The price he quoted was well in line with other tree companies, who had subsequently not shown up for the work as it was too hard for their level of expertise. I was contacted the day before they were available for work. Then the next day, the climber and support crew were here by 8am, went immediately to work, and completed the pruning and some of the clean up that day. The next day, they again showed up promptly and had the mess cleaned up by noon. They replaced all the deck furniture they had moved the day before and the place looked wonderful. The tree is amazing, looks great and healthy!"

Customers say: Quick response

"William is great, gave us a good price and did the job by his word. A large magnolia tree was taken down and he's coming back to grind a large stump. We are very happy with the job he has done so far. We will use Cherokee Mountain Tree Service again if needed in the future. I recommend their services."

Small jobs welcome

"They did an excellent job. Arrived exactly at 9:00 a.m. and worked the entire day... I had about 12 stumps that needed to be ground down, and each one was done precisely as we discussed before starting. I would recommend this professional for any necessary stump grinding, including those in hard to reach areas."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.

To maintain trees on a commercial property, perform regular pruning, monitor for diseases, and apply fertilization to promote healthy growth. It is also important to remove any hazardous branches to keep the trees healthy and prevent potential liability issues.
