MC Land and Property is the premiere Property Management & Tree Care company that services the Tri Cities and surrounding areas. We take pride in our work and understand that taking care of the customer is the most important part of being in business. With over 12 years of experience in Professional Property Management there is not a project that I have not worked on and can complete anything you are looking to have done. Give us a call today and let us bring your dream yard to life.

"The workers who did the actual labor of cutting two trees down, one (very large tree) in a delicate location, did an excellent job. Unlike the person who commented that you could hardly tell they had been in the backyard, they left a bit of a mess of a sparsely grassed trail where equipment had run across several times. Apart from that, it is the owner who gave me crap about contacting him rather frequently and changing the plan related to one tree. He is a very poor communicator and letting you know when your job will be done. I realize that weather plays a factor in timing, however, this man did nothing to help indicate when they would be coming out until it was a week and a half before and even then he gave me incorrect information about when they would be out. Secondly, as a businessman, he thinks that the customer is there for the convenience of the owner rather than the other way around. He literally yelled at me over the phone and told me I was aggravating him and interrupti"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.

If the tree is very small—under 4 or 5 inches in diameter—and you’re experienced handling a chainsaw, you may be able to cut down the tree on your own, provided there’s plenty of room for it to fall.

However, felling even small trees can be dangerous, and it’s always advisable to have a spotter on hand. This will help make sure the tree doesn’t fall the wrong way or that branches aren’t about to fall on you while you’re working.

Tree stumps are not only unsightly, but they can also do serious damage to your yard and home’s foundation. Tree stumps also attract termites, mice, ants, and other pests that could make their way into your home. While it’s an investment in your yard, removing a stump is worth the cost.

Getting a tree pro with the right experience can be the difference between your transplanted tree surviving or not. When hiring a local tree transplanting and removal service, follow up on references, check their portfolio, ask for a breakdown of the costs, and get proof of liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

Also, look for companies certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or registered with the Tree Care Industry Association and make sure they have an appropriate state or city license.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.
