"Installation went very well. The tech was knowledgeable and professional. Problem was when I received my cc bill. I was billed the $129 Angie's List fee which was to include TV wall mount (mount not include), connect all necessary video and basic audio, neatly dress wires, configure peripheral devices, and conceal in-wall wires. And I was billed $140.49 from HELLOTECH. I'm still trying to get the $140.49 charge reversed."

"Roberts Electric Mounted 4 Tv's with wires hidden, wired and installed 4 ceiling fans. I was very pleased with the quality of the work, the price, and professionalism! He cleaned up after himself and made sure I was pleased with the product before leaving! I haven't had any issues at all. Everything works as expected! I definitely will be using Roberts Electric again and recommending!"

"Mike was very responsive to my initial request through Service Magic. He called me within a few hours of the request and was at my house for a look at my flood light needs that day! After his stop by at my house, he scheduled an appointment to complete the work a few days later and was there promptly for the work on the house. He did a great job putting up my lights and wiring them and installing a new switch for the flood lights inside my house. He met me and my husband at Home Depot two days before the work was done to make sure we knew what to purchase for the job and help us with our decision making on the type of lights we needed."

Tv Antenna Installation FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, in general, raising your TV antenna will improve your reception. Besides raising the location of your antenna, you should try putting it by a window. In fact, you can have the same antenna but get double the channels or more if it's in the best location. The highest spot to put a TV antenna will be on your roof, and the tallest type of outdoor antenna is a tower.

Coax cable connects to your television, modem, or cable box. Look for a female coax connection on these devices. Your coax cable will connect to any of these. The other end of the wire runs to the service connection coming into the house.

DIY is possible for minor adjustments, but professionals ensure proper alignment and signal strength.

Costs range from $100 to $500, depending on the issue, parts needed, and labor.

If you’re having problems with poor reception, here are some simple tips that may help improve the signal and picture quality.

  • Consider the position of the antenna: Could it be higher, is it secure, or are nearby obstructions interfering with the signal? For a directional antenna, you may need to reposition it in the direction of the broadcast tower.

  • Move any metallic objects: Metal can interfere or block reception, so if you have stainless steel objects or the antenna is near a wrought-iron fence, this could be a problem. Try to keep the antenna at least six feet away from metal objects..

  • Cable length: An overly long cable can reduce signal strength. If you don’t need as much cable as you are using, it may be better to exchange it for a shorter one.
