"(TL/DR: We are happy with the work Cory did, and I would recommend him for your landscaping needs.) The theme here is "all's well that ends well." Cory is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, and he's very agreeable to work with. He and his crew work remarkably quickly, too, and the quality of work is very good. The job was not without its hiccups, though. Cory is not a proactive communicator, and that caused us some grief along the way. Without boring you with every detail, Cory and his crew got to work on Day 1, and by the end of Day 2, they had built an entire retaining wall on a line different from the one we'd talked about. He told me he had lain the foundation on Day 1 and, when he didn't hear from me, assumed it was correct and moved on to building the wall on Day 2. Problem is, he didn't inform me that I needed to review his Day 1 work (I never imagined that he would do the work differently than what we talked about when he met me for the initial estimate), or that he would interpret no word from me as acceptance of his work. The result was that he had to deconstruct the wall and then rebuild it along the correct line, which I'm sure was a lot of work, but he did it and did so cheerfully. This kerfuffle was unfortunately repeated, in essence, with the landscape stairs--building, followed by no word from him, followed by silence from me, followed by a discrepancy between what he built and what I wanted. This was especially frustrating, because, after the wall incident, he said he would take photos of the unfinished stairs and send them to me for approval before completing them. But, all's well that ends well: he and I met to discuss the issue, and then he and his crew redid the stairs to my satisfaction. To sum up, my experience with Cory is that he will make judgment calls, build, and hope it works out right rather than consulting you to see what you want and doing it that way (or telling you it can't be done that way for a particular reason). If you have a drawn plan that Cory can refer to, you may not have these issues, and perhaps I should have insisted on drawing him a plan when he didn't insist on having one before beginning work. Or, if you don't work during the day, you could oversee the work and give feedback as it's happening to prevent any issues from arising. But don't expect Cory to be proactive about communication. So, after all that, do I regret getting Cory to do the work? Absolutely not. He got it done quickly, did it well, did it for an excellent price, and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. And we are. We are very excited about the way things turned out, and we can't wait to use the back yard space that Cory helped us create. I would absolutely recommend him."

"In the end, not well. We needed a leaking gutter seam fixed at our vacation house because it was dripping on our deck and ruining our stain. Higher Ground came out and made a repair in June 2022, which supposedly fixed the leak. We then arranged to have our deck restained. Since this is a vacation house, we weren't able to go back to the house until August 2022. At that point we discovered that the seam was still leaking onto our newly restained deck. We contacted Higher Ground via email and phone to try to get them to come out and finish the fix. They were not very responsive and got a little nasty about only allowing 10 days for "quality control issues" on their work, even after I explained that we are not down at the house full time to be able to see that it wasn't really fixed. So they refused to make good on their work. From my perspective, I paid for a leak repair and did not get a leak repair."

"Had them come and give me a bid for Seamless Gutters. Their expertise and thoroughness of addressing my needs and ensuring that everything was covered was Outstanding. I had LOT's of questions and Higher Ground answered them all and made me feel like they were glad to. Easy to talk to and very customer orientated. I had several other companies come and give me bids also. I felt like their salesman were not as knowledge and just wanted to sell me the job. Went with Higher Ground and SO HAPPY I DID. They kept me informed EVERY step of the way. Showed up when they scheduled and performed EXCELLENT work. I was so impressed with the job, from start to finish. I would VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIGHER GROUND and will use them again for any future projects."

"Do not waste your time with this comapany. They took my money and never did the work. I have an active lawsuit with them. Check out thier other reviews on Yelp, Google, The Contractors Boards, etc. The only reason that are in business is because they need 5 active cases with the Contractors Board at a time. "Would never recommend trugreen to anyone. After hearing multiple people tell me not to go with them I did anyway only because they "guarantee" their work. After fighting for months to get a manager to come out I've finally had enough. I finally had someone who was filling in for a manager call me. Said he would come out to my house Friday 10/05. Finally I was starting to feel better considering every time I called for a manager they said they'd have one call me and never did. Well after Friday finally comes I never get a call or any paperwork saying he was out there. I call Monday 10/08 and ask about the situation they said they'd have someone call it's now 10/10 and have still heard nothing. My grass is completely ruined and dead on the side of my house. A technician that came out said there was never any notes on my account saying it needed extra attention. After I explained the condition the yard was in on that side he said they more than likely could have saved it with certain treatments. The "manager" I spoke to the other day said he sees notes where I've called multiple times looking for a manager. I'm not one to write bad reviews but this is absolutely ridiculous. They've done nothing to help me and my now ruined yard. They just want their money every few weeks. Definitely not a good company."
