We are a family owned and operated company. We have over 36 years of experience. H&S is a Licensed, Insured, and Bonded company.

"Everything about my experience with them was easy and professional and my favorite part was that they didn't gouge my on the price for their service. I will definately call them when a plumbing issue arises in the future."

"They stunk big time. They came out claimed the fixed it ran it once and then left when i ran it the second time my dish washer was still leaking. Then they came bck tinkered with it or jerry rigged itbwhatever ran it once and when i told them to run it a second time because thats when it will leak they said they didnt have time and left and low and behold the second time it was leaking again. It is like they just rig it long enough to get thru the test run and then leave and the second time whatever they rigged up comes undone after the cirst run so the second time u run it u back at square one. I do not recommend u using fast lane mechainical at all"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

While some building codes allow galvanized pipe for natural gas, it shouldn’t be used for propane. Propane can cause the pipe to wear down, leading to dangerous leaks. Instead of galvanized piping for propane, you should consider coated copper, black iron, or corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST). For underground propane line installation, you can use polyethylene (PE).

You may want to remove the gas line if it’s unsightly or if it’s causing a problem with future appliances. The downside is if you decide to go back to gas, you would need to run a new gas line to the area.  The average cost to run a new gas line is $550, but the installation can range anywhere from $120 to $1,350.

If you think your home might be experiencing a gas leak, you should immediately leave your home and call a professional natural gas line plumber for assistance. Natural gas is dangerous and highly flammable, so you shouldn’t stay inside your home if you think there might be a gas leak.

Sometimes. While many traditional homes use copper, galvanized steel, PVC, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and PEX, mobile homes will typically use PVC, CPVC, or PEX. These materials are more flexible, easier to work with, and handle colder temperatures.

Consider an annual inspection conducted by a local plumber to prevent dangerous and destructive leaks. If you recently moved into an older home or are concerned about the age of your gas lines, call an inspector for a closer look. You may also be required to call an inspector after your contractor installs a new line for an appliance.
