"I don't ever write negative reviews, but we had the worst experience with Meetze Plumbing. It started ok, but it fell apart pretty quickly. We have tried to get them to resolve the issue beyond the measly $500 off our bill they offered. We hired them to move our bathtub drain and water supply to fit our newly purchased free-standing tub to replace our builder-grade tub during our bathroom remodel. The first technician that came out was polite and moved the drain and water supply based on the schematic for the new tub. We paid that bill. The next step was to have the floor and wall tile installed which we did. Then, Meetze was to come in and install the tub. A new technician showed up and, when it became clear that the drain was not moved to the proper location because the tub wouldn't fit, he let us know the first technician no longer worked for them. He moved the drain to the new location after we had the floor tile cut to accommodate the new hole in the floor where the technician marked it. This appeared to solve the problem, but, when they placed the tub, we noticed that the water supply (installed in the wall) was not aligned to the center of the tub. Due to this issue, we could not use a standard length tub spout or the water would pour over the tub lip onto the floor. We brought this to Meetze's attention, and they sent someone out who determined that a floor joist prevented them from moving the drain to align with the water supply. We couldn't move them both without major tile demolition on both the floor and the wall to move both the drain and water supply to align. At no time did Meetze offer to pay for the tile work to make it right. So, we sucked it up and ordered an expensive long tub spout knowing that it would always bother us that the water supply and tub did not line up, but at least we could use the tub. When we finally got the tub spout in the mail, I was excited to try out the tub, but, when I climbed into the tub facing the water supply fixtures, I could clearly see that the faucet handle and tub spout were also not aligned!!! The faucet handle is about 1/2" off center of the tub spout (see picture). I contacted the owner with no response and replied to the invoice email requesting that an owner or manager reach out to me. Still no response! I know people make mistakes, but they should be corrected. If we ever sell our home, someone with the smallest bit of OCD will not be able to handle the misalignment of the tub, tub spout, and faucet handle. The only communication Meetze is happy to send is an invoice asking when we plan to pay. I am paying the invoice now, as much as it boils my blood to pay for such shoddy work. Please do not use them. They may be a little less expensive than the other guy, but it is not worth the headache and the permanent damage to your home."

Apple Services takes great pride in being family owned and operated. Combined, we have more than 50 years of experience in the plumbing and drain cleaning field. However, just because we have been around for a long time does not mean that we are behind the times with our technology. Apple Services has always been a leader in the plumbing trade. We utilize the latest in video technology for pipe inspections and our hydro-blasting services are state of the art. Each of our trucks is fully stocked with more than 2,000 parts to ensure timely service to our customers. We at Apple Services believe in up front pricing. Our customers receive a written proposal so that they know exactly what the job will cost before we even begin. Apples Services offers 24 hour service....NOT JUST 24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICE!

"On Christmas Eve my toilets backed up into the shower and tub. On Tuesday the issue did not correct itself so I made a post asking for suggestions. Krista answered and said she could have a tech there that afternoon. Craig and his helper showed up. The helper stayed on his phone the whole time. They couldn’t find a clean out and said they would have to find another way to solve my issue. Quoted me $590 to use a 75ft snake down my shower pipes. Once they started the machine broke. I had to wait while they went to Home Depot to get another one. Came back and in less than 15 mins told me they couldn’t solve my issue. During this a friend of mine called Krista and asked what the charge would be if a problem couldn’t be solved. She said around $300. I was still charged $590 and then quoted over $800 for them to come back to install a clean out. I was upset and paid anyway but I know they took advantage of me. After they left I contacted another plumber that came after fitting me in and the problem was corrected with a new clean out installed for $200. I will not recommend Apple Services Plumbing and wish I had read reviews before having them come out. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of customers."

FAQs for well and pump service projects in Wagener, SC

Estimating what size well pump you need is challenging and often inaccurate, but a general rule of thumb is to take the number of fixtures—including water-consuming appliances—in your home and aim for that number in gallons per minute. That calculation method would allow for every fixture in your home to use about one gallon of water per minute. However, it’s best to leave the pump size determination to a professional technician, as they can ensure your pump is providing your home with sufficient water, especially during peak usage hours.

Some states and municipalities restrict well pump repair and replacement to licensed plumbers and technicians, while others don’t have requirements. However, it’s always a good idea to hire a certified plumber to repair or replace well pumps and water pumps. Certified professionals are far more likely to get the job done correctly and prevent future issues, which is especially important for ensuring access to clean water for your home.

It’s possible to fix a broken well pump yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Well pumps are hard to reach and service without the proper equipment, and even if you can reach the pump, it involves working in close proximity to water and electricity, which can be extremely dangerous. Any mistakes made during the repair process could contaminate your water supply or put you and your home at risk. Additionally, some states require that a licensed plumber carry out well pump repair. It’s worth it to hire a professional water pump repair service.

The average cost to repair a well pump is $950, with most well pump repairs ranging between $100 and $2,900. A few factors influence your total repair cost, including the component of your well that needs repair or replacement, the extent of the damage, the accessibility of the pump, and the age and size of your well pump. It might be more cost-effective to replace your well pump if it’s old or has multiple broken components, as the average cost to replace a well pump is $1,800.

Most professional well and water pump technicians will take between two and four hours to replace an above-ground well pump, while a submersible well pump typically takes four to five hours to access and replace. You can also ask your well pump replacement technician how long they expect the process to take, as some jobs take just an hour or two. Keep in mind that you’ll be without access to water during the replacement process, so plan ahead by showering early and stocking up on bottled water for drinking and cooking.
