"We had Garden of Eva build us a custom koi pond with a 4â high slate waterfall surrounded by a 20â x 40â paver patio including an extended half circular fire pit area. The final result is absolutely stunning! Rocky and Eva were a true pleasure to work with. Nick, their main man, worked diligently to create what I envisioned for the space. Rocky went above and beyond to hook me up with solar lighting for the area and even provided me with start up materials for the fish. I am so thankful to this team for turning my dirt pit yard into a resort style oasis."

"I cannot say enough about the professionalism, work ethic and quality of the work performed by Blue Peak Landscaping. I had a paver walkway and pad installed and over 120 square feet of patio added. Aaron was precisely on time for the initial meeting to give me an estimate. The estimate was all inclusive and very fair. Throughout the entire project he or Allison in the office kept me updated to project start dates. When I was told a start day Aaron and the crew were there exactly when they said they would be and for the next two day worked tirelessly. I watched them work and nothing was left to question. If the walkway was supposed to be 37" wide it was measured and measured to make sure it was exact. There were two footer pads to be dug (2'x2'x3' per Myrtle Beach Code) . A lot of companies would have said its 20" that is close enough. These were dug exactly 24" deep. The entire crew were at all times gentleman , friendly and attentive. It was a true pleasure to work with Blue Peak and I could not more highly recommend them for work you will not regret."

"We had Beach Landscaping do an outdoor kitchen in the past so we were familiar with their work. We had an idea of what we wanted . Andy brought along Jake to come up with a true design concept on his computer and it brought our project to a whole new level. Christian who is a perfectionist and artist with pavers was amazing matching the herringbone design on our original patio. Again we canâ t say enough great things about this company and would definitely hire them again."

"We had gotten about 5 estimates from different contractors. Although James was not the cheapest, we were so impressed with his manner, his professionalism, and his desire to work with us that we went ahead and hired his company. We could not have made a better choice! These gentlemen work as if they were working on their own projects! They arrived on time, went right to work, and were very pleasant and accomodating to my wife and our 2 small dogs while I was at work. After seeing how hard they worked and how professional they were (not to mention the outstanding quality of their work), we asked them to do some other general contractor things around the house such as changing a large light in the kitchen, installing some crown moldings, and painting a hallway. They were thrilled to help and jumped right in...We will recommend Marshall Construction to anyone asking and I carry one of their business cards in my wallet so that I can pass it on to people! As a matter of fact, they are coming back to do some concrete work for us next month!"

Fountains questions, answered by experts

One reason you may want to fill in your pond is the cost of maintenance. Pond cleaning may cost about $1,000 for an annual cleanup, or monthly visits may cost $75 to $100 per visit. If you don’t want to spend that much per year on pond upkeep, you may consider filling in your pond.

When deciding whether or not to turn off your pump, you should consider your area’s climate and the aquatic life in your pond. If you live in an area with freezing winter temperatures and don’t have any wildlife, keeping your pump on could damage it. If you have aquatic life but live in a colder climate, you might consider keeping your pump running and adding a pond heater.

DIY kits exist, but professional installation ensures proper filtration, landscaping, and leak-proof construction.

Frogs may love your yard and want to take up residence for several reasons. Yards can offer a moist environment or access to water. Frogs also eat insects—your yard may offer a steady stream of their preferred diet, such as grasshoppers, crickets, fruit flies, and more.

When deep cleaning your koi pond, transfer fish to a clean, uncontaminated container at least one foot deep, like a large bucket, tub, or kiddie pond. Fill the container with their existing pond water to avoid shocking them, and place the container in full or partial shade. When it’s time to reintroduce them into the pond, slowly add the new water to the container before adding the fish and container water back into the pond.
