Brookview Renovations is a veteran owned, family operated Fencing company specializing in wood privacy fences. Our part time employees are Police and Fire Fighters looking for Extra pay. It is our little way to give back to first responders while also increasing the caliber and professionalism of our company. Home owners can feel safe when we are on their property.

"This fence project was a nightmare. I told the Salesperson and the Project Manager that I wanted a fence that my dogs could not see through to avoid conflicts with the neighbors’ dogs. I literally said I wanted a fortress, a stockade. They recommended a stockade fence with premium lumber that wouldn’t shrink or have spaces. I was told to pay half up front. They charged me the entire amount upfront and said that they could only refund half through a check. By the time that happened the job would have been done so I said it was fine. (The owner said it was my fault because I should have been able to change the amount manually. Not his fault for charging the wrong amount.) Poor finance procedures. Poor customer service. They use subs and they don’t supervise them. I told the Project Manager that I needed to know what time to expect the crews in the mornings because I needed to be up and dressed and the dogs out, pottied and back inside before they arrived. The first morning he said they would be there “first thing” so I was ready at 8:00. One guy arrived at 10:15. On one day when they weren’t expected they woke me when they pulled in at 8:15 so I had to take the dogs out one-by-one on leashes. Poor communication. Poor project management. Because of rain delays, they had to finish the job when I was out of town. I wanted to wait until I was back but the Project Manager said that if I made them wait, they couldn’t start another job and it would affect their income and that he would be sure everything went well. So I agreed. They were using my garage for tools and to access electricity and for shelter from intermittent rain. I told them to close the garage door when they left. They did not and my garage and house were open for 3 days. (The Project Manager, who was supposed to be supervising said it was my fault because I shouldn’t have let them use the garage. They should have used a generator. How would I know that they had generators? If he was supervising, he would have seen the situation.) Poor respect of property. Poor customer service. Process aside, if the fence was great at the end of the day, I would have been happy. But the fence does not serve the purpose. The boards are uneven and there are gaps between them that I can fit my pinky through. At the end of the row, they had to cut one of the boards into a wedge to fit. It looks terrible and it’s at the front of the property. And, after only two weeks, one of the boards has become un-nailed from the frame. The Salesperson doesn’t respond to my texts. When I called the Project Manager he texted me that he is at an early lunch and will call me later. I left the Owner a voicemail and he hasn’t returned my call. It’s been over a week. I’ve had to hire another fence company to provide a solution. The new company said this company did a terrible job, didn’t even nail the bottom of the fence and overcharged me $1,000."

We are a full service tree company and general construction business with friendly and professional staff that knows not only how to get a job done, but also how to get a job done well and on time. We offer Tree Removal, Pruning, Cabling & Rigging, Grading, Hardscape, Construction, and more, all at a fair price!

"Fantastic! The crew arrived on the scheduled day, and carefully removed the trees (one of which was a 40" trunk diameter rotting oak nestled between our garage and our neighbors). They cleaned up the area surrounding the trees removing all of the overgrown shrubs and ground the stumps. Very pleased with the company, employees, service provided, and the price. Would definitely recommend, and I anticipate using this company again in the future for another project."

HMC Builders is a general contractor specializing in all things gutter! We offer seamless gutter installation, gutter and downspout repairs, and gutter guards. We also service and clean all residential and commercial gutters. We strive to provide excellent customer service and quality craftsmanship.

"I would absolutely hire them again. Superior customer service and knowledgeable technician. We had a "trouble spot" on our roof that we have tried to fix for years. Just could not get water runoff routed correctly so we had cascading waterfalls every time it rained. The technician took his time to evaluate the issue and figured out how to fix it. Great job. No more waterfalls!!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Each state has its own regulations about pool fences, and laws to protect both swimmers and pool owners. Before installing a pool, you’ll need to research what the pool laws in your state, city, and county are to ensure that you’re adhering to the legal regulations. Inground pools typically need to have a fence around the entirety of them, but the rules regarding above-ground pools are less stringent. A good rule of thumb is to always have a fence around your pool to ensure safety for all.

Privacy fences in residential neighborhoods tend to stand between 6 and 8 feet tall, but local building code usually dictates the maximum height. Livestock fences that border large land plots range from 3 to 6 feet. Shorter, decorative fences, which are common in front yards, are around 3 feet tall, on average. Fence height also tends to vary by material, with wood fences usually sitting at 6 feet tall, and chain-link and wrought iron fences tending to sit at half that.

While power washing isn't a requirement before you stain a fence, it can make the job much easier and faster while reducing manual labor requirements. The stain will not work if the wood is full of dirt and dust, so power washing, sometimes called pressure washing, is a fast and effective way to prepare the wood for staining. Remember that you need to stain or repaint relatively soon after the wood has dried so that there isn’t time for dust and dirt to build up again.

The cost to install a fence averages between $1,800 and $4,500, ranging from as low as $450 to as much as $43,000 for a five-acre yard. Cost factors include the size of the fence, type of fence material, height, site prep, and additional features like gates. Keep in mind that custom fabrication of fences and gates can also increase the cost.

All fences offer some degree of privacy, but standard perimeter fences may not be designed with that in mind. Dedicated privacy fences, however, tend to enclose smaller areas and feature more high-end materials that truly emphasize seclusion and comfort. Additionally, privacy fences typically offer fewer gaps to peek in through than standard fences, though you can likely adjust that to suit your preferences.
