I've been a journeyman electrician for 10-15 years and on the management side of electrical and general construction for another 10 years. I've worked in a variety of settings from residential homes to apartments complexes to state prisons. Everday is different in my line of work, sometimes I'm chasing my tail trying to find a lose neutral, while other days I'm installing an electrical panel for a tiny home. Greg took care of scheduling the delivery of the generator to our house, obtaining required permit, scheduling with Duke Energy, and he does all the installation and wiring himself. For those wanting to know the process of having a permanent generator installed, please see below: 1. Propane (most difficult part) a. If you do not have propane, you will need to contact a propane company to rent propane tank(s) i. I chose Suburban Propane b. They will need to come out and see where the tank(s) will be placed, propane gas lines to be ran to the generator location c. You will need to contact 811 to mark, and survey the area (no cost) d. Schedule the installation of the propane tank(s). Currently, a lot of propane service companies are Two Weeks or more out for scheduling an appointment 2.
