"I had a driveway poured a little over a month ago and We absolutely love it. From the very first day that DS construction broke ground to install the forms, they keep me informed from start to finish. I was never left wondering exactly what was goin on..Overall my experience with Ds was amazing and I would most definitely refer him to Others and I would call him back again if I ever need more concrete work done in the future.Wonderful hard working group of guys and most of all they are doing the work to the satisfaction of each customer."

"

Perfect, Marcus and his guys took there time removing all debris off the driveway and cracks. After doing that the guys seal all the cracks in the driveway. Then they spray down new driveway sealer on my driveway.

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Asphalt is made of aggregate materials (sand, rocks, and gravel) and bitumen, a viscous, petroleum-based, waterproof substance. These materials are mixed together at extremely high temperatures to form asphalt.

Driveway paving costs around $4,500 on average, but depending on many factors, you could pay anywhere from $2,500 to $6,600 or more. The size of your driveway will usually be the most significant factor, with more square footage increasing your costs. You can expect to pay between $2 and $15 per square foot for paving services. Some other factors that play a role include the following:

  • Quality of the materials

  • Contractor’s experience and expertise

  • Site preparation and grading, if necessary

  • Layout of your driveway

By grading and compacting the base soil, ensuring proper drainage and stability.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.
