"I had a driveway poured a little over a month ago and We absolutely love it. From the very first day that DS construction broke ground to install the forms, they keep me informed from start to finish. I was never left wondering exactly what was goin on..Overall my experience with Ds was amazing and I would most definitely refer him to Others and I would call him back again if I ever need more concrete work done in the future.Wonderful hard working group of guys and most of all they are doing the work to the satisfaction of each customer."

"

Perfect, Marcus and his guys took there time removing all debris off the driveway and cracks. After doing that the guys seal all the cracks in the driveway. Then they spray down new driveway sealer on my driveway.

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

Depending on project size, typically 1 to 3 days, including preparation and installation.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.
