Stonehenge Marble & Granite is a full service stone company that provides the Lowcountry and Grand Strand with stone work consultation, fabrication, and installation. Ryan McGee, owner and founder of Stonehenge Marble & Granite, has led the industry for the past 25 years by drawing upon his commitment to quality and excellence within the stone industry. By staying loyal to the small business model, Stonehenge Marble & Granite offers stone work that is fully customizable to your specification, and an ease of communication that can smoothly integrate any plan changes quickly and effectively. In addition, the longstanding, personal relationships that Stonehenge has held with vendors and employees have created an excellent stock of quality product and expert craftsmen.

"I called Stonehenge searching for someone to help me repair an undermounted kitchen sink that had fallen from the granite countertop. Unfortunately, the company I had bought my countertops from about 10 years back was no longer in business. This was also after a failed attempt of another contractor who "repaired" it. Ryan helped to connect me with his team. They came over the day I called and repaired the sink. The team was such a pleasure to work with and they did an amazing job. They were extremely professional. They even pointed out other areas in the kitchen where the granite was not placed correctly and fixed those while they were at it. My sink is better than the day it was installed and is going no where. Best money I've spent in a long time. I hope to remodel the kitchen after COVID and I will be calling Stonehenge!"

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

Most professional shower tile installations take between six and eight hours, depending on the size and complexity. Most projects get completed in a single workday. DIY-ing the project takes around three to four days or roughly 16 hours. However, this will vary based on the skill level of the person completing the work.

In some cases, granite tiles can be installed over existing flooring if the surface is level, stable, and free of moisture issues. However, removing old flooring is often recommended to ensure a secure and long-lasting installation, as well as to avoid height differences at thresholds. Consult with your flooring pro to determine the best approach based on your specific situation.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

Marble is very porous, so it stains more than non-porous quartz. Exercise caution when drinking wine and juice or cooking with oil near the marble fixture.
