"The team did an excellent job. Worked on a Saturday which fit my schedule well. Removed three layers of linoleum floor in my 16'x16' kitchen. I am very satisfied with the work and price. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs asbestos removal / abatement."

DIfficult job in brutal heat but went the extra mile to complete demolition and removal of trash working with Mt. Pleasant Public Works and Nature Calling. Honest, caring and kind. "My initial contact, David, with the company was great. When I got handed off to the local company that would be taking care of the paperwork and scheduling several things got lost in translation and my project was delayed from the original promised date of completion. I spoke with my original contact and everything was back on track. The third group of people, the ones that showed up at my house, were also great. This was a tiring process but finding asbestos in your house is not easy either way. I would use this company again if I needed it."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

It is best to wear a respirator during the sanding, painting, and sealing process. It can filter particles, vapors, and fumes that can be toxic to breathe. So it’s better to be safe and protect your lungs during this project.

Yes. Gutting a house to the studs may actually be a good option if you believe a home contains toxic materials like asbestos, mold, or lead paint. However, this must be done under the supervision of licensed remediation experts.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned the use of asbestos pipe insulation in certain applications in 1975. It released further bans in 1989 and 2019. While asbestos pipe insulation was common from the 1930s to 1970s, its use fell off after the 1970s due to public concern and the EPA's actions.

Asbestos is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer. Inhaling asbestos fibers is linked to several respiratory issues, including asbestosis, or scarring on the lungs, lung cancer, and mesothelioma, another type of cancer. There's also a link between asbestos exposure and an increased risk of colon cancer and other cancers of the digestive system.

Usually, the people most at risk for disease related to asbestos exposure are those who spend a lot of time working around the material without protection. Electricians who work with asbestos wire have a higher risk of developing mesothelioma or lung cancer due to their exposure.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.
