"We renovated an old ranch into an office. The kitchen was outdated and in need of repair. They refaced the cabinets and made excellent suggestion regarding modifying drawers for better functionality. They listened to our needs/wants. Work was completed in a timely fashion and to our satisfaction. It looks like new! We are now having them come to our home for cabinet modifications in laundry room and a repair in the kitchen."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, soft-close drawers are quick and simple to add to a refacing project. Get in touch with a kitchen cabinet refacing contractor for an estimate. In many cases, your cabinet contractor or repair person can bundle the cost of upgrading your cabinets to soft-close drawers into the total bill of your project. They may even offer a discount for combining these services, but you’ll need to shop around for the best deal.

Refacing costs less than replacing because it uses the existing infrastructure. However, customizations and the quality of materials can still influence the expense.

Cabinet refacing typically takes 2 to 5 days to complete. The exact duration depends on several factors, including the size of the kitchen or bathroom, the level of customization, and the complexity of the updates. For example, uniquely designed doors and drawer fronts may take longer to manufacture and install. While a professional can often complete the job within this timeframe, a DIY refacing project may take longer.

Refacing cabinets is more cost-effective than total replacement and offers a refreshed look by simply replacing doors and hardware, and applying new surface veneers while retaining existing cabinet boxes.

Yes, as long as the doors match the dimensions of your old cabinets and use compatible hinges. This method works best if you are using similar materials and door styles that match your existing cupboards. If you’re choosing significantly different materials, like moving from fiberboard to hardwood, then it’s usually best to replace the entire cabinet.
