"Richard came out to our house less than 30 minutes after I called for help. He was professional, quick, knowledgeable and friendly. He even installed our new garbage disposal in the kitchen while he was here. I can not thank him enough for rescuing us."

"We had a pool installed in July. Now we are creating our outdoor living space. Other than time management its been great working with Bryan. He stays late to get the job completed and his pricing was the best I got out of 7 quotes. I then hired him to install a pump in my backyard and that too has went well. Currently, he is working on my filtration/aggeration issues to stop the rainwater from washing away my backyard. Bryan is always polite and patient to explain our choices and the cost benefits of them. I appreciate his text of photos & website for clairty. He's very thorough and always cleans up after himself. He recently hired an office assistant, so hopefully that will make a huge difference in his scheduled appointments & communication."

"He did an excellent job painting the inside and out side my house, installed a security front storm door and repaired my roof. I would recommend Kevin Wheeler highly to do any of your home repairs. He is just not only a handy man, but a handy man who gets the job done in an adequate time frame and to his customer satisfaction."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

In perfect conditions—meaning, no overexposure to the elements without roofing material on top of it—an ice and water shield can last for decades. In fact, many come with a limited lifetime warranty because they should last for a long time. If, however, the membrane is exposed to the elements during building or if there is a delay in installing the roofing material, it might only last up to 180 days if exposed to the elements. The key is to make it a layer of protection and then protect that layer by installing the roofing.

Damp proofing and waterproofing are both methods to help keep your basement dry. Damp proofing keeps soil moisture from entering your basement, which is helpful since your basement is underground. Waterproofing, however, keeps both soil moisture and liquid water out of the basement, which is essential, especially if you live in a wet environment. Because it’s more protective, waterproofing typically costs more than damp proofing.

In some circumstances, foundation refacing or repair may be a better option for your home than sealing a foundation. It’s always a good idea to take steps to prevent moisture problems in your foundation, but if there are any structural concerns, those will usually need to be fixed first. When dealing with foundation issues, it’s a good idea to get a professional opinion so you can avoid bigger problems down the road.

External pressure on the basement wall can cause it to bow inward. Soil, heavy with water saturation, is commonly the main culprit. The soil exerts immense pressure on the wall, causing it to fail, at least partially. This is known as hydrostatic pressure—these situations can occur after rainfall or simply due to regular groundwater presence and may be temporary or more permanent.

The purpose of crawl space encapsulation is to prevent mold by blocking moisture and reducing humidity. If the vapor barrier is properly installed, it significantly reduces the chance of mold developing within the crawl space. However, mold can sometimes grow behind the encapsulation material, but it will be sealed away from the main area. Additionally, moisture can still condense inside the encapsulated space, so if you notice excess humidity, installing a dehumidifier is recommended to prevent mold and mildew growth.
