"The technicians are amazing at Ethical Plumbing. My mother passed away and the next week I found a water leak in her basement. I called Ethical Plumbing and they got me on the schedule the very next day and made everything so easy. We have since found a different problem that they also helped us with. Always shows up on time and diagnoses the problem and offers different solutions. Thank you!"

"Very impressed with this company. I scheduled a kitchen faucet installation with Jacob. He arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and professional. The installation went perfectly. He even cleaned up after everything was installed. I would highly recommend this company for any plumbing needs and plan on using them again soon!"

"Had some issues scheduling - they postponed because of another service call - but came the next day, precisely at the correct time, and waived the weekend service charge.  He looked at the fixtures we had and the issues with leak.  Gave us a quote which we thought was rather pricey.  Work was performed in a timely manner - premises was left clean.  He was very informative - helpful with exploring slowness of water supply and drainage to basement bathroom where he had been working.  Found the problem which was a minor issue - and fixed it without further charge.  We are extremely pleased with the service and friendliness and will definitely use this company again and will not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Septic Repairs
Holy cow!! We found it!
Almost looks like we didn't just install 400' of 4'' Storm Drainage to save the septic system from near total failure.

Sometimes excessive storm water can wreak havoc on a septic system and cause the system to break down prematurely.
The septic system was drowning, we suggested diverting the storm water to protect the septic tank & field lines. Problem Solved.

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Toilet seats have two mounting brackets on the back that accept mounting bolts. The bolts drop through the brackets, through two small holes on the top of your toilet, and then receive nuts to hold them in place on the bottom of the toilet. If you can’t see the bolt heads, you might need to pry up the mounting bracket cover, which is a plastic piece that hides and protects the bolts.

Generally, toilet leaking is not an emergency unless the leakage is severe. However, any leakage at the bottom should be addressed as soon as possible because it could lead to water damage to the floors, under the tiles, or into the walls. Leaks at the bottom can also lead to mold growth if unaddressed.

After flushing the toilet, you should have about half a tank full of water. While the exact amount of water you’ll have will vary, you want to make sure you have enough to cover the bottom of the bowl and enough to sit above the P-trap drain. While low water in your toilet bowl can indicate a problem, too much water can also be cause for concern.

You generally cannot replace a 10-inch rough-in toilet with a 12-inch model without making significant plumbing updates. A 12-inch rough-in toilet will not fit a 10-inch rough-in space because the floor drain is in the wrong position. To accommodate the larger toilet, you would need to move the drainpipe, which could cost between $0.75 and $30 per linear foot, plus labor. In most cases, it is more cost-effective and simpler to purchase a new 10-inch rough-in toilet. However, it is possible to install a 10-inch rough-in toilet in a 12-inch space by using a longer connector.

You should choose the type of toilet that meets your budget, fits properly in your space, and matches the rest of your decor. If you’ve never gone toilet shopping before, you might be surprised at how many options are available. Most homeowners choose a two-piece toilet, which is the industry standard, and a gravity flush system is the most common. However, dual-flush and low-flush toilets are becoming more prevalent as more people become conscious of water consumption.
